In the crush of needing to file bankruptcy, I met with a few attorneys. One whose waiting room suggested lots of big vacations. Another whose reception area had lots of weirdly plush furniture, like a fake polar bear rug. Mr. Herrera returned my initial call in an evening hour. His office is modest. The experience with bankruptcy should also be seen as reclaiming one's responsibility. It is hard to imagine that other bankruptcy attorneys will not also be less responsive the farther along in the journey. There are people just at the beginning who need those immediate responses.

I used Mr Herrera for a bankruptcy in 2010. I'm writing now because I am unable to receive even a return call from his office as I finally need reference documents to help me buy a new home (finally). His office does not return calls - or just perhaps calls of this nature. During the case itself, I felt more like a "number" than a client - and found his general demeanor somewhat unrefined - not sure exactly how to put it. At the time, I needed someone inexpensive so he fit the bill. I guess you get what you pay for.
