On January 10, I finally reached her and was told that she had a family emergency the previous week because she was juggling childcare issues (I too worked full time and had 3 children and at no time in my 30 year career did childcare interrupt my professional responsibilities). I replied that I also had a family emergency the previous week, which is why I retained her. Bottom line, Ms Leader never filed the appropriate paperwork for the separation. I retained a competent attorney who did file the paperwork on January 19. In addition to no representation by Ms. Leader, I received a reimbursement check for $4,947.50. of the $10,000. retainer!
