About
I have been practicing bankruptcy law since 1993 when I first started clerking for the Honorable Randolph Baxter, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge. As a law clerk I was able to experience the judge's persepctive of each case. I then started my own practice and quickly earned an appointment to the Cleveland panel of chapter 7 trustees. I handle cases as a bankruptcy trustee, and I represent individuals who need financial assistance, including filing for chapter 7 and chapter 13 protection. I have a unique perspective of the practice from all sides of each matter which helps me quickly assess the strengths and weaknesses of each person's situation. I then work hand in hand with my clients to develop the best strategy for obtaining relief for their financial problems.

Lauren is both a consummate professional and a most trusted adviser of the highest order. Her grasp of the details of the U.S. bankruptcy code and intimate knowledge how the process works and the people involved is invaluable if you are considering filing for protection from creditors. She will make sure what you are considering is actually the most appropriate thing to for you to do as well as being within the parameters of what the law allows. In our case Lauren guided us through the process of filing Chapter 7 while still keeping possession of our primary residence - no mean feat considering the size of the assets involved. When you call Lauren, she answers the phone. When you email her, she responds almost instantly. And when you ask her a question, she looks you in the eye and gives you the straight scoop. But perhaps most importantly, Lauren guides you through the process with the utmost degree of care and compassion. She never makes you like you have failed, but rather, provides an understated sense of future optimism in her conversations with you. If you ever find yourself in position to need Lauren's services, you won't be making a mistake by engaging her.
The level of service provided to me from Lauran and her staff was exceptional. She answered calls and handled my questions and/or needs immediately. I was never left to wait. No issues whatsoever. I hold Lauren in the highest regard and would recommend her to anyone.
Lauren is an absolute gem to this whole bankruptcy process, from start to finish. The worst feeling is to have to admit that bankruptcy is needed, and when dealing with explaining financial situations to Lauren and/or anything related to the "why", Lauren never based any personal judgment. At the same time, Lauren made me very aware of what needed to change, what the issues were, and explained from top to bottom analysis of the financial situation presented to her. Throughout it all though, every part of the process was discussed and explained, questions were always answered, emails were always answered, and Lauren never made me feel that I was interrupting her day or that she was too busy for whatever question I had. That kind of attorney is almost impossible to find in this day and age. Lauren never demanded the full attorney fee and filing fee up front, so she let me make payments based on what worked for my paydays, but she also made it clear that she could not file the case until full payment was received. Lauren is, and always has been, an awesome attorney who represents herself very well, who has her client's best interests at all times, who is extremely knowledgeable about every part of bankruptcy law, and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs the best of the best.
My real estate attorney referred Lauren to me 2 years ago. I own real estate property and was told that I could not file a chapter 7 because of my investment property. I had to default on several properties due to the water bills, etc. When I went to see Lauren, she advised me on how I could file my bankruptcy and still keep some of my rentals. She did everything I wanted and more. Lauren is probably the smartest bankruptcy attorney in the city. I am going through a lengthy divorce, and she is still working with me and advising me on how to move forward with my house. She is amazing, affordable and smart!
Lauren came highly recommended by my divorce attorney and not only lived up to, but exceeded all expectations. Everything was handled professionally, she was very reasonably priced, and was very patient in answering all my questions and guiding me through the complicated process. I would recommend Lauren to anyone needing assistance in bankruptcy.
We had Lauren for our Bankruptcy and I cannot even begin to say enough words. Bankruptcy is never easy for anyone. But Lauren Helbling makes each of her cases easier. She explains EVERTHING that will happen during your individual case. She really gets to know you personally so she knows how to word the case to you. She is so knowledgeable that there is nothing she can answer or find out an answer for you. This was our first experience with a Bankruptcy attorney and from the first meeting to the last Lauren helped us. Every call was backed up by a letter about what we talked about. and her commitment to our case made us feel almost like family, She is always available to answer questions you may have and if she is not in the office she will get back to you ASAP. If you want an easy, knowledgeable, reasonable, compassionate attorney then Call Lauren Helbling. Trust me you will never be sorry.
I have known Lauren Helbling and have been a client for maybe 10 years. Lauren is honest and will tell it "like it is". She has been working with bankruptcies and other client debt issues for a long time and knows her business well. She is always willing to take follow up calls and e-mails, long after the bankruptcy is over. Beyond that, she is compassionate and fair. I have recommended her to many others over the years for all of the above reasons. You are in good hands with Lauren.
This lawyer assisted us with our Bankruptcy case a few years back. She actually listened to our comments/suggestions and made us feel part of the process instead of just bystanders. She also helped us with the 'bumps in the road' with actual helpful suggestions instead of the usual standard responses while maintaining high professional standards. I was referred to her originally by another lawyer and was pleased with the result. I highly recommend this lawyer.
