Laura Baker Laura Baker is a shareholder at the Law Offices of John Day, P.C. where she has spent more than 11 years representing clients in personal injury, wrongful death and tort litigation cases across the state of Tennessee. She represents people who have been seriously injured as a result of the carelessness of others, as well as families who have suffered the loss of a loved one in a wrongful death accident. Furthermore, Laura has been recognized as one of the “Best of the Bar” by the Nashville Business Journal in 2015 and 2017 and was selected as a one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the Mid-South by Super Lawyers in 2015. Laura has routinely been named a Mid-South Super Lawyer since 2013, and achieved the AV® Preeminent™ ranking from Martindale-Hubbell through its peer-review system since 2013. Professional ActivitiesIn addition to her law practice, Laura is active in many legal organizations. Laura currently co-chairs the Program Committee for Lawyers’ Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter where she has also served as President-Elect, Treasurer, and Newsletter Editor. Laura is also a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, The American Association for Justice and the Tennessee Lawyers’ Association for Women. Laura was selected for the inaugural class of the Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum, which was limited to 28 attorneys in Middle Tennessee. She was also selected as a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law class for 2013, an honor reserved for approximately 30 lawyers across the state each year. Laura is a Barrister in the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, and is a past member of the John Marshall American Inn of Court. Community InvolvementLaura is also very active in the Nashville community. She serves on the Tennessee Justice Center’s Raising the Bar Committee, and has Co-Chaired the Lawyers for Littles bowling fundraiser, an annual event for lawyers and legal professionals benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. Education A native of Nashville, Laura graduated from Rhodes College and the University of Tennessee College of Law.
