A U.S. Navy veteran, Jonathan Stender represents individuals and management in a wide spectrum of labor, employment and workers’ compensation matters. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star. Jonathan is strong proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). In 2014, he was selected to join the Mediation and Arbitration Panel of NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the country’s most highly regarded providers of ADR services.Jonathan graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Russian Language and Literature and Political Science/International Relations from the University of Washington in 1994. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1998. At Case, he was Executive Editor of the Journal of International Law, a member of the National Moot Court Team, and recipient of the prestigious Dunmore Award, for excellence in appellate advocacy.United States Navy Veteran. As a Navy petty officer, Jonathan deployed oversees aboard numerous Pacific Fleet subsurface combatants as a Cryptologic Direct Support Special Operator and Supervisor. In that role, Jonathan received myriad citations and awards, including the Navy Expeditionary Medal, and Meritorious and Navy Unit Commendations for special operations vital to the government of the United States.He is the author of Too Many Secrets: Challenges to the Control of Strong Crypto and the National Security Perspective. 30 Case W. Res. J. Int’l Law 287 (1998), and is a certified Russian interpreter and translator.Jonathan also has written and spoken on a wide range of employment and workers’ compensation issues. Representative publications include, “Navigating The Minefield Of Military Leave,” “Ohio Drug Testing Law Covering Workplace Injuries Ruled Unconstitutional,” and “ADA Direct Threat – The Supreme Court Has Finally Spoken.”
