About

For clients who are facing divorce, child custody or child support issues, Kimberly Scheuerman draws upon her expertise with the Court system to help them through their toughest times. She focuses on promoting her clients’ interests and, in custody cases, on achieving solutions that are best for the family as a whole. An attorney, who has gone through a similar situation, is best equipped to understand and guide her clients through the process. Kimberly knows this.  She has turned her personal experience with a difficult divorce into powerful advocacy for her clients.“Years ago, when I went through a divorce, I didn’t understand all the legal procedures,” Kimberly said. “I wanted to be a knowledgeable resource who could explain the process to them in ways they could easily understand and make the process easier for them.”  That desire factored into her decision to earn a law degree and is what gives her an edge as a family law attorney.Kimberly has facilitated very favorable custody settlements for her clients. Knowing the law and understanding the results her clients will likely get in court, she advises her clients in a way that will minimize their costs.  Being a strong advocate for her clients, Kimberly knows how to propose offers for settlement that are reasonable and fair and will ultimately obtain the best results for her clients.Kimberly regularly serves as guardian ad litem as well, representing children when there have been allegations of abuse or neglect in divorce, custody, relocation and order of protection matters. As a mother of three, she understands the things that impact children.“I offer clients an understanding of the personal dynamics that other attorneys may not be able to provide,” Kimberly said. “I’m aware of what clients are going through.  My combined personal and legal experience helps them feel comfortable, confident and navigates them through some of the saddest times of their lives.  It gives me great satisfaction to help people.”

My experience in working with Kimberly (Kim) Scheuerman was way more than what I had expected, and took away the fear of what you hear most people say, 'the attorneys are only in it for the money.' Consulting with Kim was so comfortable...she understands and relates. It was easy to sit down with her and to explain my situation. With the information provided to Kim, she worked with me to explain what options were available and walked me step by step through what the process would be and the steps that would have to be taken. As mentioned in a previous review, she may be expensive, but what attorney is not? My children are my world, therefore, I didn't consider, nor discount the cost of my attorney as I wanted an attorney I could trust to be on my side and fight for what was best for my family. If ever I need an attorney again, I will not hesitate to reach out to Kim. It is good to walk out of the office or hang up the phone knowing that who you have hired to take care of you is actually taking that time, and doing it with compassion and honesty.

Before hiring Kim I had to fire a different attorney. Kim was more expensive but So worth it. Money is tight but is nothing compared to my child's safety. Kim was more prepared than I could have ever imagined. My previous attorney did not do half of what she did. She went above and beyond and ultimately changed the lives of me and my little one. So grateful for her dedication and mostly for keeping my baby safe! I highly recommend her! If needed I will use her again in the future. She is kind, understanding, straight forward and always keeps the child's best interest in mind. She also fought for my safety as well. Couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you!

My husband and I had Kim represent us for a custody battle. When we went in for our initial consultation, Kim had our hopes high by suggesting we go for sole to keep our child safe. We paid her a decent retainer as expected up front. However, prior to court we noticed Kim was changing her original plans and trying to force us into settlement. Mind you we were told by several attorney's that they were aware that the judge we had is one who would push and prefer the parties to settle. Considering the Respondent was a drug abuser that was mentally and emotionally abusing our child, we knew we had it all. To top it off, the Respondent filed a false police report and was founded by the judge to have told several lies in court. Our biggest problem was less than 2 months of having Kim represent us, she changed firms and demanded a second retainer a long with a 3rd and separate retainer for the case regarding the false report. During this point, Kim would give legal advice to the Respondent under our dime and force us into agreements that put our child at risk. Before the final trial we had everything going for us until Kim decided to take our case into her own hands and force us into giving the Respondent what she wanted. Which of course ended up being more than what she started with. She also rudely demanded a 4th retainer before trial and was against our feelings. We were ecstatic when Kim quickly withdrew. She took advantage of our family. Thankfully, our child has been seeing a therapist who helped us get sole legal and sole physical custody by aiding an attorney who didn't cost a quarter of what Kim did. In my honest and fair opinion, Kim is not the attorney for you if you are a male and fighting for your child.

Beware, lawyers prey on people when we are at the most vulnerable point in our lives and this attorney is no exception!!! Came off nice and promised the world and so much more. When it came time for court Kim demanded additional retainers even after she was already hired. Charges for emails, phone contact, text, or phone calls, either from you or the person you're going against in court. You cannot even call with simple questions about your case without being charged an arm and a leg. Ultimately ended up being forced to settle out of court and put my child in constant danger because apparently a fourth retainer was in order. Disgusting. Where are the mentors for our children? The system is failing our youth. Would not recommend ever.
