About
Prior to going to law school I worked for an insurance company in the claims department. I handled in excess of 3000 claims for personal injury during that time. After passing the Bar I continued to work for the insurance company as an attorney. I know what the insurance companies like, don't like, how they will treat you and what they will do. I also know what they fear.I am always available to talk about your case. I also know that most accident victims do not need an attorney. I have always hated it when an attorney takes on a case just to make more money than the client. I have helped many, many accident victims pursue their claims against an insurance company without taking a penny. Some will need an attorney to avoid being screwed by the insurance companies, but most do not. I am a father of five children and I know I would not want anyone to take advantage of my kids, family or friends. Call me if you have any questions.

Kevin spent much time discussing with me my case, and his thoughts and assessment were extremely enlightening. I was really impressed how he swiftly, without hesitation, addressed my questions and provided what was highly experienced input. Kevin Maki truly cares about doing great legal work and it shows!
I have had two different sets of legal issues as of late in which I have turned to avvo to seek information as I can't afford to hire an attorney for either matter. Mr. Maki has very generously extended his obvious expertise in both matters which have proven to be very accurate. Mr. Maki has illustrated to me that he does care that people receive good information and that they have the best chance at accomplishing the legal goal sought. Should I have been able to hire someone for these matters, I would have chosen Mr. Maki from the many attorneys that have responded to my questions. If this is the kind of service one receives on avvo, one can imagine the service they would receive as a paying client. I highly recommend Mr. Maki.
This review is from someone who was actually a client, not just someone who's grateful she got a free advice. Don't even waste your time, he's completely unprofessional, has no compassion for his injured clients and has very limited experience. He's very friendly in a first conversation but he's either backed up or just doesn't want to work. He said I had a good case and had no problem asking me to pay expensive uber trips to his doctors in Newport Beach saying he'd submit them to the insurance and that I would be compensated for those expenses. That was in the hundreds of dollars as I had just arrived in Cali and didn't even have a car or restart my business. Back doctor insisted I needed 2 MRIs. The lawyer repeatedly ignored the question and didn't follow up at all. If he does respond to you, his reply is vague as if you were a mind reader. He dropped the case at my 8th therapy session without warning and if I had not asked him point blank if he was still in it or not (he was not courteous or respectful enough to even reply to that), I would have spent hundreds of additional $ and the poor therapist would have worked more hours without getting paid. I'll be reporting him to the Ca bar association.
