Kevin Kita has spent his career accumulating invaluable experience in all aspects of civil litigation from pre-litigation investigations, through discovery, motion practice, arbitration, mediation, trial and appeal. He has first-chaired numerous jury trials and obtained favorable jury verdicts in three different states. On appeal, Kevin has presented arguments and obtained favorable decisions before Ohio’s Sixth, Ninth and Tenth District Courts, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Ohio Supreme Court. While his professional experience spans a wide variety of legal matters, he has focused his practice primarily in the areas of products liability, automobile warranty, governmental liability, and general liability defense.Selected by Super Lawyers to the list of Rising Stars for 2014, 2015, and 2016 and recognized by Top Attorneys as one of the "Outstanding Young Lawyers in Cleveland," Kevin actively and successfully defends clients in a broad spectrum of cases.  Notable successes include receiving two directed verdicts in trucking/transportation cases in small claims court, receiving a directed verdict and two unanimous jury verdicts defending automobile manufacturers in cases brought under Ohio’s “lemon law,” winning a unanimous jury verdict in defense of a multi-million dollar products liability claim, and winning  a favorable jury verdict at trial in a medical malpractice case defending the owner/operator of a nursing home.Kevin’s achievements as an attorney have been recognized throughout the community, especially at his alma mater, The University of Akron School of Law. Since 2011, Kevin has been coaching the University’s nationally acclaimed trial advocacy competition program, winning a national championship and multiple Sixth Circuit regional championships in the process.
