Kent gives up his Saturdays every week to assist and advise Vanderbilt law students at Vanderbilt's free medical clinic. The students gain invaluable experience through working with Kent and watching him work with the diverse clients and their varied legal needs. He devises trainings and opportunities for students to continue to expand their legal knowledge outside the classroom.

Kent and I first met when our daughters were playing AYSO soccer. He was/is approachable, engaging, intelligent, and someone you trust almost immediately. For me the measure of a man is how he interacts with his family and Kent sets the bar for all of us. Later when I had a sensitive legal issue, Kent was the first person I called. He was extraordinarily professional yet understanding on a personal level. He seemed to never forget we were husbands and fathers first and foremost.
