My wife an I had been through two lawyers in our attempt to gain custody of our grandson. We finally got Mr. Baker's name from a co-worker who had used his services in the past and was very happy. Mr. Baker came into the case late in the game and really turned it around for us. We are grateful and wanted to write this review so others would know he is a hardworking, honest and knowledgeable lawyer.

Mr. Baker is handling my current case with such professionalism. He keeps me updated and has worked with me when it's been time to pay balance. He has eased my mind on more than one occasion when dealing with the intensity of my case,

Mr. Baker helped me in my divorce. He always kept me up to date on my case and delivered everything he promised. He was much more prepared in court hearings than the other side and I felt really good about hiring him.

Mr Baker painted a good picture,he told me he would handle my case in 60 days ,took my money 3500 then it all went south he canceled court 3 times, all the while not returning my phone calls and texts and doing his best to avoid me ,even the office staff at Diaz&Jakob is fully aware of what kind of attorney Mr Baker is! He is a con man disguised as a lawyer ,had no knowledge ,didnt do his research didn't even know who the judge was that day and lost my case ! I would never refer him to anyone, he is a man with out honor!

I hired Eric Baker as a out of state lawyer to represent me in a child custody case in Texas. The first case he represented me in was to determine if Ohio or Texas would hold jurisdiction over the case being that my daughter only lived in Texas for 6 months. The state of Texas was granted jurisdiction over my daughter. Eric Baker told me that he would provide me the documents from that case, it has been over a month since the jurisdiction hearing and I have yet to receive any documents pertaining to the ruling of the courts. After that case I have sent Eric Baker a list of matters which needed addressed per filing a modification and gave him the green light to type up the modification request document and he told me he would have it to me the next day for my review and I never received the documents. i asked him a couple of days later if he had drafted the modification request for changes I wanted in my order and he again said he was waiting for my go ahead. I told him that I had already given him the green light to draft the paperwork so he again said he would have it for me the next day. Again i contacted him to see where we stood on the proposals and like the other times he told me he was waiting for the green light. I than had to fire him. Eric bakers mission statement states "Your Needs Come First. When you choose our law firm, you will work directly with an experienced lawyer. We will take the time to learn about your situation, your family and your goals. We put your needs first and make certain that the legal strategy we recommend is what is best for you. After we implement that strategy, we will stand by your side until a resolution is reached." Truth is he does not care about you or your situation, unless it is time to pay him a retainer. I wish I would have read these reviews before hiring him to handle my custody case.

We hired Kenneth Eric Baker for a case. He quit responding to our calls, texts and emails...Then when we could get hold of him and we ask why he will not consistently communicate with us, he would threaten to quit our case, and told he does not give refunds for his lack of services. Mostly because in my opinion he does not know what he is doing...He has been reprimanded by the state, that should tell you everything you need to know!!!! Very temperamental and threatening

He is so unprofessional, he never answered my calls. He took my money upfront and do nothing with my case. He has no knowledge of Texas law due to he is from California.

He rescheduled appointments at the last minute and made decisions about my case without consulting me or my spouse. I have been trying to get some of the $3500 retainer I gave him back for over a month since I fired him for botched paperwork. He misspelled names on the fill in the blank templates he used, even put down the wrong birthdate for the child in the case. The judge was so pissed she basically threw the whole thing out. This guy just wants your cash.

Our family retained Kenneth Baker because we needed a lawyer in Bexar County who could practice law in California. He initially showed interest especially when it was time for a payment, but other than that it was impossible to contact him. He constantly gave dates and times to contact him but never answered or returned your calls. He was never prepared and he made promises that he never kept. I brought several topics to his attention, which I had in emails & texts to prove his statements but he continued to disregard my concerns. He also threaten to quit the case and keep the money at the last minute because he didnt appreciate our family bringing up his mediocre performance. We basically had to eat cheese in order for him to show up for court! His preparation and court presents was below average, I definitely wouldn't recommend him to any friends or family. Mr Baker is not trustworthy, responsible, and he definitely won't keep you informed. He actually started to act like we worked for him instead of the other way around. I expected more from Baker, and I was very disappointed!

He makes promises and does not fulfill them. He says one thing, then does another. He said I would have standard visitation with my children at the least, and at the most they would be living with me. He said we'd go to court (I already had and was awarded standard visitation but my ex appealed as she has nothing better to do). But he only ever sided with my parental-alienating ex and her attorney and pressured me into settling after threatening me and belittling me. He never went in front of a judge to plead my case, or allowed me to. He constantly rescheduled court dates without contacting me to let me know (I lived 90 miles away, and several times showed up to court just to find out it had been rescheduled). He is rude. He interrupts and does not listen, and did not seem to be able to keep facts in order or even remember very important aspects about my case (like how my ex has been convicted of family violence). I never did anything wrong and yet I have had to jump through hoop after hoop after hoop and pay huge sums of money (that could have gone to support instead). I have never abused my children, but my ex has, yet here I am being punished for her behavior. Mr. Baker does not return calls. He does not answer them. I wonder if his secretary even gives Mr. Baker messages or if he is instructed not to. Once I called and another lawyer answered, said Mr. Baker was there, then came back and said he had stepped out of the office. Mr. Baker has an uncanny ability to always be out of the office whenever I call. Overall, he didn't do what he said he would do, and took my money, and I STILL do not have standard visitation with my children, while my ex, convicted of family violence, gets to raise them, and with my money too. And my children continue to suffer and be used as pawns in a wicked game of control that Mr. Baker acknowledged, yet seems to be ok to let to continue. I hired him almost a year ago, and still he won't answer or return my calls after so many promises. Thing is, I HIRED him, I don't want his promises, I want WHAT I PAID FOR.
