About
I was born in the Upstate of South Carolina. My father was an officer in the US Army and my family moved many times when I was young. We lived in places like Hawaii, Italy, Germany and Atlanta. My family moved to Virginia Beach and I graduated from Kempsville High School. After high school, I attended the University of Virginia and graduated in 1981 with distinction. After taking a year of so off from school, I went to the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. I graduated and passed the bar exam in 1986. My first job as an attorney was with the firm of Weisberg & Stein in downtown Norfolk. I started working there in 1986. Weisberg & Stein was a general practice law firm. As such, I worked and learned about many areas of the law. I handled all types of cases there including divorce, bankruptcy, real estate, traffic, collections, criminal and many other types of cases. It was a good experience learning under a set of good attorneys. In 1990, I was hired by the firm of Alexander P. Smith and Associates which was also located in downtown Norfolk. This firm focused on consumer bankruptcy cases. I worked with this firm until 2005. In 2005, I help create the law firm known as Harbour Law. I have continued to represent many people in filing consumer bankruptcy cases. Since the beginning of my career, I have filed over 4300 cases in bankruptcy. I am currently married and my wife is an elementary school teacher. I have 3 children. Two have already graduated from college and the youngest will graduate from high school this year. I helped coach baseball, basketball and soccer when my children were younger. I have also been an adjunct instructor at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach since 2005. I have taught bankruptcy, real estate and corporate law at TCC.
