She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. She began her career in Kansas City for a debt collection firm where she represented creditors in suits on notes, guarantees, and other instruments of indebtedness. She handled a large caseload for the firm which included drafting and reviewing petitions, motions, garnishments, and settlement documents. She moved onto a firm that represented real estate investors and creditors in cases that pertained to landlord/tenant relations, collection, and other real estate related matters. During her time there, she attended hearings throughout Missouri and Kansas, including anywhere from 5 to 20 bench trials per week. This included coordinating and overseeing meetings and settlement discussions among parties, negotiation of settlements, monitoring compliance, and maintaining case databases. Most recently, Katherine worked as an associate attorney for a firm representing business clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters.When she is not busy assisting her clients, Katherine enjoys cooking, hiking, camping, and spending time with her family, her young son, her two cats, and her dog.
