About

Alex is a Clinton, Tennessee native that attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Following graduation he joined the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer.Alex left naval service in 2016 after three deployments to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Military service emphasizes the traits of team work, discipline, organization, and cooperation. These traits serve an important function in the legal field where legal teams include many members all working toward a common goal. Alex applies these skills and his leadership experience to resolve legal issues quickly and efficiently.After completing his naval service, Alex attended Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law in Knoxville. While in law school, Alex served as the Executive Editor for the DSOL Law Review, which published his written work Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and the Failure to Comply with the Fifth Amendment Taking Requirement in the Spring, 2019 edition. Alex completed internships with the firm Joyce, Meredith, Flitcroft, and Normand; TVA’s Office of the General Counsel; and, the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. He graduated cum laude in the top 10% of his class and received multiple awards for his academic performance in legal writing, advanced criminal practice, and appellate practice.Following law school, Alex joined Nelson Law Group, PLLC where he represents clients in domestic matters, consumer protection, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, wage and hour disputes, Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions, and general civil litigation matters.
