When it was time to find someone to get my parents’ Medicaid application approved and, later, to administer their estate, Kate was the only one to call. Kate went above and beyond fighting the bureaucracy that took over two years to get the Medicaid application approved. Kate is knowledgeable, thorough, and responsive. She is highly recommended.

I hired Attorney Toombs to help me after my mother passed with her will and sell her home. What an amazing job! The process was much longer than I thought it would be, and there were a few times that I was the one holding the process up by not getting what she needed to her in a timely manner. However, the overall outcome was great, for what I was doing. I never once felt that my file wasn't being worked on even though she has many clients. Her staff are very kind and helpful. I even went ahead and hired her to do my own estate planning. Top notch attorney. I have recommended her to all my friends and am glad I ignored these reviews. People come to sites like this to complain. I however was not swayed and I'm glad I wasn't.

Frustrating to navigate civilly describes the rules and protocols associated with the Spenddown application. My mom has been in residence at an area nursing home for less than a year and her assets are rapidly dissipating to meet the costs incurred from long term care. The realities of elder care expense make palpable the ephemeral nature of savings accumulated from years of hard work. In short, hard to come by but easy to go as that chestnut underscores. Fortunately, Kate Toombs has been available to help steer the course through the Medicaid Spenddown labyrinthe. We’ve been able to salvage some of Mom’s resources through Kate’s insightful and directive planning, and she has mitigated the severity of financial loss due to the family’s lack of foresight to plan for Mom’s later years of life and care, a problem shared unfortunately by too many families. One of the hardest parts of this process was acquiring the required documentation from the bank showing mom’s income and pay outs over the last 60 months. It was one of the most difficult experiences I’ve had in getting an organization to provide required documentation, in this case in the form of bank statements. What I did receive was consistently incomplete with missing pages. My frustration really peaked when my efforts proved to no avail after a third request for the correct documentation. Kate helped to resolve this problem by getting a bank manager to mediate the process. Kate Toombs is a tremendous legal asset and resource for families planning for elder care. I recommend her services and intervention in planning for family elder care needs and asset protection.

Unprofessional and unresponsive. Not compassionate. Would not recommend. Other reviews must be from friends and family.
