In our first meeting Kathleen outlined a smart strategy for my divorce. She was proactive and responsive. No drama. Her approach worked. The divorce went through exactly as she planned. I highly recommend hiring Kathleen A Nielsen.
I hired Kathleen Nielsen to handle my divorce 6.5 years ago. 31 plus years of marriage. ...no minor children...2 properties and a pension involved. Kathleen immediately sent me to a tax attorney to obtain a Qadro....hopefully spelled correctly. ..that is a specific document that must be completed in order to obtain half of the ex husbands pension. If that is not done pre divorce you may as well kiss it goodbye. I just began receiving the monthly checks and I owe it all to Kathleen. She also placed a lien on the property that I was bought out on for legal fees ordered by the court that he never paid. 6.5 years later I got a call from Kathleen saying she had a check for me...he let the property go to foreclosure and i got my money....I didn't even know she did that...it was an awesome surprise. Kathleen Nielsen is a formidable attorney on every level. I highly recommend her for your divorce needs...She will take him to the bank and give you all the money allowed by the laws. She does not play at this...she delivers. Thank you Kathleen.
I met with Kathleen and reviewed a mediation document. She sat down and went through all 44 pages of the document with me and made very sound recommendations. Had I not seen her, I would have agreed to a number of things that were not legally required and quite honestly, stupid. Her rate is reasonable and I had I known of her sooner, I would have chosen to spend my money with her over a mediator any day. Mediators are no one's advocate. You need an advocate - a fair advocate - and that is the impression I had when I left Kathleen's office. If you are already in the process with a mediator, at least have her review your agreement. It is worth the time and the money. My personal opinion - you should see an attorney when you are divorcing and the attorney you should see is Kathleen Nielsen.
I was referred to Ms. Nielsen through another trusted advisor that provides services for me. Years ago I realized that to succeed in the finance, insurance, legal, fitness, etc. areas I needed to build a team around me for support in those areas of my life. Ms. Nielsen has become part of the team. I was pleasantly satisfied when we met. She is personable and welcoming. She was open about the process of estate planning and carefully considered my unique situation during our dealings. I was able to share my legal needs with her openly as well as learn about her background and experience to determine if she would be a good fit as a personal advisor. I had already drafted and signed the recommended estate planning documents including my Living Will, Durable Health Care Power of Attorney, Financial Power of Attorney and Last Will and Testament. I asked Ms. Nielsen to review the existing documents to make sure they were in good order and also to advise and revise my Last Will and Testament. Ms. Nielsen was willing to spend the time needed to sit with me to read through the documents, discuss my individual situation and advise me of her recommended actions. She was available by phone and email throughout the editing process until the document satisfied my legal needs and wishes and the State's requirements. The process was seamless and I feel relieved that my estate plans are now in order. I feel strongly that I can contact Ms. Nielsen with questions both related and unrelated to her practice areas and obtain either a direct solution or a referral to someone in her network that can address my concern. Her rates were reasonable, her office environment comfortable and easy to find and her service was friendly. I will look forward to working with Ms. Nielsen should the need arise in the future.
Kathleen was an excellent attorney. Her attention to detail and her foresight were invaluable. I would recommend her for any legal needs you would have and trust her completely.
Kathleen Niesen forgot to include that the home loan needs to be transfered to spouse that retain the home. I currently retain the loan but I have no home to cover the loan. With all the years of practice you think this fact she would have presented to me. She is not even willing to work with me to fix it. Before the case was signed by the judge she had me sign release papers. Releasing her from any future obligation or litigation.
