She has also served as a prosecutor and has worked in politics both within City Hall and as a consultant. She has a unique perspective having worked in civil defense for many years and has extensive trial experience from her background in both the civil and criminal courts. Ms. Higgins has been awarded with the Northern California Rising Star commendation for 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and has been chosen as one of the Top Women Attorneys in Northern California in 2012, 2013, and 2014.Ms. Higgins volunteers her time to multiple nonprofits in the Bay Area, serving as a board member and mentor. She lives in the Bay Area with her family, where they enjoy hiking, running, and all that beautiful Northern California has to offer.
