Let me begin by saying that divorce can be short and sweet; or drawn out over many years. Mine has been the latter, now approaching 11 years entailing pre- and post- decree litigation with complex family law dynamics. I am not wealthy; and there have been stretches where I have been Pro Se, mixed in between being represented by other attorneys (really bad ones - where I actually knew more than they did; and they probably hurt my situation). During this time, I began to understand the type of attorney that I needed. Someone that did not look at me as a means to pay their children's college or their summer vacation to the Hampton's but someone that truly believed that the legal profession was still noble; especially as it related to family law - making things right. Kate Sharp is that type of attorney; and different from the masses. I was at a point where self representation (Pro Se) was proving fruitless against my ex-wife & her attorney. When I met Kate, she took the time to listen to my situation; and based on her questions, responses and feedback; I knew she was not only extremely knowledgeable but had compassion and empathy for what I've been through so far. From the get go, she took the time to understand the priorities and background; to formulate an attainable strategic plan and provided insight on working as a team to balance what I could do vs. what she could do to keep consts under control. We are still a team, making headway in unwinding a few past orders that were unconscionable; as well as filing additional Motions to make things right. I usually do not give out recommendations very easily, but Kate is truly a different rare breed of attorney; and I would not hesitate to recommend her. She is well connected in the tri-county area and respected by both judges and attorneys.

Divorce is such a painful process. No one ever gets married anticipating that this may happen. I know that I surely did not. But, I am so very grateful that Kate Sharp was my attorney. Here is what I sincerely want you to know. When you are going through this process, there is such a peace of mind knowing that Kate Sharp is both your wise advocate in knowing the law as well as your compassionate attorney caring for your heart. Kate's combination of being so down to earth, so approachable, so timely in her responses, so excellent as well as ethical, so willing to have a caring heart is a blessing to all who need her. When I was standing in front of the judge, I was thankful to God that Kate knew her how to do her job so very well. I was even more thankful to God and to Kate for being the compassionate and kind soul that she is to those in need.
