Kellie is the absolute best at what she does. She guided me through the collaborative process and our outcome was the best it could possibly be. We were able to be respectful and considerate, keeping the children’s needs at the forefront during this difficult process. Without her, I don’t believe our family would have been able to transition to a new normal as smoothly as we have. We all have much to thank her for!

Kellie represented me throughout my collaborative divorce process and she helped me to make the best of a bad situation, being respectful of how I wanted to go through the process instead of forcing me to do things the "normal" way.

Thank goodness for Kellie McConahay and Collaborative Divorce. There is a big difference in “saying” you want a divorce and actually “getting” one. Divorce is huge. It’s ugly. And it’s painful. It was sad to be “moving on” and “letting go” of 40+ years together. I valued being married and raising a family together. Sure, the marriage was over but I did not want the divorce to be contentious. Sadly, my ex did not care about any of this at the time. He had moved on to a new relationship and was in a fog of distraction and self-indulgence. I’m smart, good at making decisions and getting things done. During my divorce I became paralyzed in my ability to think, discern and act. It’s important to stop and process your divorce WHILE you are going through it. You can do it now…or later, but you eventually have to do it or it will come out in your health. This is fact. Thankfully, Kellie to the rescue. Her calm demeanor and years of experience helped me navigate the treacherous terrain between marriage and divorce. My ex-husband was extremely arrogant and combative through most of the process claiming he didn’t need an attorney and knew exactly what HE wanted. Kellie was steadfast, diligent and kept me focused on the end game which was getting out of a very toxic marriage in a way that benefitted me in the best way possible. Finally, after realizing he didn’t know everything, my ex hired his own Collaborative Divorce attorney. After 8 months of talking about getting a divorce we finally had our first collaborative meeting and the divorce was final within 2 months. I’m glad that we did not choose divorce court or a single mediator. By each having our own Collaborative Divorce attorney, we were able to get to the finish line by focusing on compromise and acceptance. In the divorce decree Kellie was extremely detailed and made sure that everything was written very clearly. This has helped me numerous times in the months following the divorce because my ex has pushed the limits of our agreements several times. It was helpful to be able to just refer to the divorce decree when I needed detailed validation of the court order. This is a heartfelt review for Kellie filled with gratitude. She is excellent at her job.

Kellie was the safe harbor in the worst possible storm a person could imagine experiencing. Her ability to balance keeping the process moving forward and still maintain that these are people, who are dealing with difficult, painful moments in life was invaluable to me. She was honest and forthright with her counsel and guidance. She models the collaborative approach and works hard to keep adversarial tendencies out of the process. She sought to understand the things that were important to both sides in order to ensure, what already was a difficult situation, escalating into something far worse. I appreciate the network of collaborative resources Kellie had at her disposal in order to stream line the efforts and keep the process moving forward. I would recommend Kellie to anyone looking for an excellent attorney.
