Ralph C. Hardy practices in the areas of estate planning and commercial real estate law. He focuses on wills & trusts and trust administration as a wealth manager.  He has specific experience in handling significant farm land purchases and sales.  He has practiced law in the Elgin/South Elgin area since 1970 and at the firm’s Huntley office since 1973. Mr. Hardy was named a Leading Lawyer in Illinois for 2014 and 2015.Among his civic involvements, Mr. Hardy has served on the Elgin YMCA Board of Directors for over 30 years, including two years as Chairman of the Board; boards of the Presence St. Joseph Hospital Foundation; Harris Bank Huntley (including as director and Chairman of the Board); Waterman State Bank; State Bank of Paw Paw; Elgin Symphony Orchestra; the Fox Valley Music Association; and Elgin Jaycees. He currently serves as legal counsel for the Girl Scouts-Sybaquay Council and the Friends of the Huntley Library. He has also led seminars in the community on estate planning and real estate topics.Mr. Hardy has been named a Leading Lawyer in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. He was chosen and listed in Chicago magazine as a Top Five Star Wealth Manager in 2010 and 2011. A native of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Mr. Hardy holds a B.A. in History from Beloit College (1965) and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri (1968). He currently resides in Huntley with his wife, Nancy, and maintains regular office hours at the firm’s Huntley office.
