I was referred to Hoover Krepelka by a friend of mine that knew someone that worked in the office. I didn't know where else to go and completely trusted this friends opinion. I scheduled a free consultation with Bob Hoover, he was more than understanding about my situation, he wanted to hear every single detail about my life up until present time, so he could completely get the full picture of my life and what I was dealing with at the time. I felt that was so important as well, for him to really know me and my life in order for him to represent me in my divorce. His co-attorney Kara Foster was just as wonderful. They both made me feel so comfortable, welcome and confident and that was exactly what I needed. I like the fact that they pride themselves on settling cases before court and that's exactly what happened in my case. I never went to court for my divorce and because of the support they gave me I never had to. I'm so grateful for everything they did for me, it's so hard to put in to words. They are honest, they care, they are confident in the law and what needs to be done. I'm so very appreciative that I found them and if I ever need counsel again, I'm going right back to them with no hesitation. The best feeling is knowing that I can go back to them whenever I may need them and they know me and understand my case and I feel so thankful for that. Thank you Bob and Kara, you are the best in what you do and I would refer you to anyone that needed a lawyer! Even though you don't officially represent me now, I still refer to you both as MY lawyers and I'm very proud and sincere in expressing that. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.....for understanding the law the way you do, for making this client feel like I mattered and for honestly just being you, two honest, caring people that are awesome at what they do and anyone would be lucky to have you in their corner!
I selected Hoover/Krepelka because I had heard they were the best and I wasn't disappointed. My divorce took almost 4 years so I got to know this firm very intimately. I had a totally unreasonable 'ex' who was fighting for sole custody and an opposing council that likes to argue everything so we had no choice but to litigate. And if you're going into the trenches you absolutely want Bob their with you! He's been doing this a very long time and is a master in the courtroom. From the beginning stages of my divorce to the end I had GREAT success, made tons of progress and now have almost equally shared custody of my son! I owe that to Bob and Phong. I can't thank them enough for all that they did for me and how much they gave me in the chance to be a father to my son. They took personal account of my case and I felt very much a part of the family. I would absolutely recommend them in the future!
I hired Robert Hoover in Feb. 2013 and terminated my contract with him in June 2014 after spending $ 275,000 in legal and experts fees. I later learned that the majority of the expert advice that Robert Hoover deemed necessary for custody and financial settlement were indeed useless. Through the involvement of experts Robert Hoover's firm organized many unnecessary meetings where Robert, the expert and Robert's assistant ( a young attorney) attended, and I walked away paying almost $ 5000 for these meetings without much progress in advancing my case. Robert Hoover was also not keen in helping to hire a mediator or a private judge to settle the case, which is exactly what happened in my case after I terminated my contract with him and hired a new attorney. The Hoover firm also charged me $ 24,000 for subpoenaing documents, most of which were not even used by either his firm or the second attorney that I used later to settle my case. In my opinion this firm doubles and sometimes triple charges for services they provide and the work provided is often of poor quality. I hired Hoover based on his experience but most of the work in my case was done by a young assistant with very little legal experience. The problem with the set up of this firm is that you are told that it is cheaper than other firms because most of the work is being done by the assistant. However, in reality both Bob Hoover and the legal assistant (along with a paralegal) are charging at the same time. I didn't mind the expensive service if the work done was of high quality but it was not. I suspect that had I not fired Robert Hoover my case would still be ongoing with no hope of resolution in sight. I suggest staying away from this firm because their strategy is not to help you to settle your case but to prolong the case as much as possible so that more unnecessary meetings and hearings could be scheduled for the purpose of charging more billing hours. For my case, the best strategy would have been to work with the opposing attorney to settle the case out of court, which is what happened when I hired a new attorney who was able to close my case in 2 months.
