Karen E. Stoorman, a lifelong resident of Michigan, was a co-founder and principal attorney of Advantage Legal Services for over 25 years. She left Advantage Legal Services to open The Law Office of Karen E. Stoorman. She specializes primarily in bankruptcy and some family law. Karen has successfully represented clients throughout Oakland, Macomb and Wayne Counties, both in Circuit and District Courts, as well as in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.Karen graduated with honors from Oakland University and received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit School of Law. Upon admission to the Bar, she was employed at a large law firm until she co-founded Advantage Legal Services. Now, as the founder of The Law Office of Karen E. Stoorman, she is able to focus on issues that affect families and not large corporations.Karen is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She is a member of the Family Law Section, Consumer Law Section, and Master Lawyer Section of the State Bar. Karen has been awarded the BV Distinguished rating in both legal ability and ethical standards in Martindale-Hubbell by her peers. She is also active in charitable organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association and Diabetes Association.
