Karen is the consummate professional, knowledgeable and empathic. She provided insightful advice that resulted in a positive outcome. I’d highly recommend her!
Karen is a talented, compassionate attorney. Great health care experience and understands the complexity of the business.
She was recommended to me by a trusted friend as someone who could potentially help me with medical privacy/potential HIPPA violations for my high school daughter who was being forced to announce her medical information to her entire class in order to swim for her team. We had a phone consult ($275), in which she reminded me “lawyers don’t work that fast or for free.” I was in a time crunch to help my daughter participate in sports and was hopeful she could offer advice for how to pursue a path that would protect my daughters privacy and allow her to swim. She advised me to forward all communications between myself and school administrators as well as examples of privacy violations. I did and she replied “she would be happy to take a look, but needed $1000 retainer with her hourly fee. I emailed for clarification on what exactly that meant to which she replied “like I told you over and over you can file a claim with OCR but if I do it my time is money.” During the 20 min consult conversation OCR was never mentioned. I felt she was abrasive and put out. Overall, I wasted my money and got nothing in return as OCR told me it wasn’t in their scope but rather FERPA. Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.
