In 2019, my landlord was trying to evict me and was retaliating against me for making complaints. Attorney Lim was well prepared and we took the case all the way to trial. She did an amazing job at making the landlord look like a liar and she proved that he was retaliating against me. Julie Lim fought for my rights and we won! Justice was served.
This attorney represented me in a complicated manner. She answered all of my questions and met all of my legal objectives. I am writing this review because I don't understand why the others are writing bad reviews. Ms. Lim's services were very successful, she helped me resolve a legal issue by going to trial and did everything she promised. I had no problems whatsoever.
I completely agree with the others -- this was the biggest mistake hiring her. I contracted her to file a lawsuit two years ago and still nothing! Now two years of the statute of limitations has been lost for her failure to file the lawsuit. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER hire this Attorney. I should have listened after I saw her first review -- and after time more and more bad reviews appeared. After reading all the other bad reviews, it finally hit me why all of these bad reviews coming through -- because everything these other people were experiencing -- was happening to me. NEGLIGENCE, INCOMPETENCE ....
Hiring Julie Lim was a HUGE mistake and after several months and many thousands of dollars, it became clear that if I did not hire another attorney, she would most definitely lose my case. There were lies, missed deadlines, documents required were not filed with the court and she rarely returned calls or emails. When I would finally get a hold of her, she would bawl me out and say I "know nothing about the law", "stop trying to micro manage her" and I just needed to trust her". Whenever I would challenge her about her mistakes, she'd get really angry and say that I "was the problem" and it "wasn't her job to baby me", etc. I literally was speechless! Fortunately, I had witnesses to her outbursts during the calls (speaker phone) in case that ever needs to be addressed. I mean no disrespect to anyone. I came to her for help from being victimized & taken advantage of by the guy I'm suing. Julie Lim's negligence, dishonesty and incompetence is one thing, but for her to be so rude and abusive takes her treatment of clients to a whole new level. It is just plain WRONG! I feel it's my responsibility to put this out there for people looking for an attorney for what it is worth. Had I known and read the reviews (there are some on other sites as well) i NEVER would have hired her. I hired another attorney who is kind, efficient, and I rarely have to call/email him with questions because he lets me know things on his own. The few times I did email him, he got back to me within the hour. I see now that I wasn't" the problem" at all. Julie Lim was. Maybe she and I just clashed. (Odd, since I get along with everyone as a rule). Given the other reviews I've read, i don't think that is the case.
About 1 year ago we went in to see Julie Lim and Mark Brajnikoff for a problem we were having with our commercial property that we had purchased over 6 years ago. We were having problems with code enforcement, and found out that 2 of our units did not have permits and may have to be torn down. Julie and Mark told us that they will be able to take our case and resolve the issues with the city. They charged us a $5000.00 retainer fee. What they failed to advise us is that there are statue of limitations, and after 2 years of owning the property, you are unable to sue the real estate agent that sold us the property!! Here we are now, 1 year later, in the process of losing the property, and unable to get a hold of Mark or Julie. They don't return phone calls, do not respond emails. When we told Mark that we did not need his services, and to return us our retainer, he said that it was not a retainer, but what they charge in advance. So in other words, whether we use them or not, they still keep the money!!
