I have worked with several attorney’s in Chester County, and hands down, Julie Potts is the best. She was recommended to me, by another attorney - who said, he would hire her over anyone else. I would not recommend anyone else for a family law matter.
Julie was the attorney that brought my prolonged, nearly 2.5 year Court Master-involved divorce case to resolution. After two previous attorneys had gone on maternity leave, it could have been easy to become frustrated at the prospect of having the case transferred for a third time, however Julie assumed the case seamlessly and confidently assured me the case would continue to move along without disruption. As a client who actively participated in the case, I appreciated Julie's attention to detail and responsiveness, her promptness and accuracy in preparing documents, and the wealth of knowledge and experience that she brought to the case, always offering thoughtful options and suggestions as we navigated the various phases of the case. It was also very reassuring for me, as a client, to witness during our scheduled appearances at the Courthouse, the extremely high level of respect that others in the legal field have for Julie. Since the resolution of that specific case, I have continued to engage Julie's services for the preparation of other legal documents and have recommended her services to friends in the local community. Based on my experience working closely with Julie on matters that spanned a wide range of family law matters including: spousal support, alimony, divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, equitable distribution, exclusive possession of property, and child custody, I can state without reservation, that she is the attorney you want by your side to bring a case to resolution.
Things in life aren't always easy but when I had to petition for emergency custody Julie was on it that day and that minute. She walked me through everything from support, custody and next steps. I am glad things have improved between the ex and myself to co-parent but I was definitely at the start of a long and tough journey. Without Julie the process would not have worked out for me as well as it did.
I was at the end of a bad break up. At the time I had a 5 year old daughter that, for no reason, had been withheld from me for the better part of a year. I was lost, confused and didn’t know what to do. I was served support paperwork 2 days before her birthday and 4 days before Christmas. I was broken and knew I needed help to make things right for my daughter. Never in a million years did I think I’d be in this situation. Not knowing what to expect and after reading all the horror stories about custody battles I finally decided to reach out to her. I had nothing to lose but everything to gain. Julie Potts was recommended by a good friend of mine. She was exactly what I needed. Someone who listened to my story, answered my questions and relieved my concerns. After our very first conversation I knew I had made the right choice. She looked me in the eyes and said “everything will be ok”. I trusted her wholeheartedly. Fast forward to today...because of Julie I have a custody order in place that not only made me happy but more importantly gave my daughter and I the opportunity to build a healthy relationship together. Julie has changed my life and for that I will be forever grateful. I would recommend Julie to anyone.
Julie was sunshine on a rainy day! I felt hopeless and defeated when I sought out Julie. She took me in and not only showed me hope but I felt as though she truly cared. Upon leaving my initial meeting I felt like she would not let me down and began to find hope. She gave me clear direction and guidance to help me get things that I needed to do on my end. She was prompt in responding to emails and even would call to check in on me to see how I was doing. Julie knows what is takes to get you out of a mess and she takes pride in doing so.
I hired Julie in a last minute/emergency/ongoing custody case. I had felt so hopeless and defeated since my prior conferences had went so poorly in my favor. Thanks to Julie, my entire life is better. Custody, school issues, child support, has all been resolved. I would never use anyone else for any legal issue.
On June 19 2015 My life changed forever so I sought the help of Julie Potts @ macellree Harvey. She was extremely professional, helpful, diligent, fair, Very prompt with returning phone calls/emails/text messages very prompt with returning phone calls/emails/text messages! etc. I highly recommend her services in the event of an unfortunate situation!
My husband and I recently started working with Julie in the midst of an already sticky custody case. She is the 3rd attorney we've been with for the same case and I feel like we've finally found "the one." After we met with her initially, she got to work on our case immediately, before we even paid her retainer! She responds to our emails, calls, and texts very promptly, which is something we haven't been able to find with any other lawyer. She is up front and so incredibly easy to work with. I never leave reviews for anyone or anything but in this case I really can't say enough positive things about our experience so far working with Julie.
Undoing a marriage after 19 years was not fun. Splitting a family of 4 was worse. It is was a very emotional experience that was full of uncertainty. Julie Potts represented me through the process. Julie is a professional who also has a caring side. She was able to listen to my concerns and priorities, give sound advice, work together with the other parties all the while keeping me calm. It was very comforting to know that she had the entire MacElree and Harvey team of experts to lean on. The entire staff is kind and warm and the facility is top notch. The result is a very amicable separation and a fair distribution with little to no negative effects to the children my ex-wife and I love so dearly.
Let's just say I was little hesitant hiring an attorney since I didn't want to add a high attorney fee to my already expensive separation but I'm glad I did. And remember, you get what you pay for and Ms. Potts definitely delivered. She kept me up to date on things and I think really protected me from getting taken advantage of. She was nice and calming when things dragged on. I'm glad I trusted her advice. I'll never use her again since I won't get married again! But I'd definitely recommend her to friends.
