Elliott L. Epstein has been a Maine trial and appellate lawyer since 1978, handling a broad spectrum of complex cases in courts and before administrative boards involving divorce and custody, business and contract disputes, employment discrimination, personal injury and professional malpractice, intellectual property, securities broker-customer disputes, probate contests, and real estate and land use issues. He has also acted as a mediator and arbitrator. He holds the highest (“AV”) attorney peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell.Mr. Epstein received his law degree from the Maine School of Law in 1978, a master’s degree from Imperial College of the University of London in 1971 and a bachelor’s degree from the Georgetown University Foreign Service School in 1969. He is admitted to practice in Maine state courts and before the Maine U.S. District Court and U.S. Supreme Court.Mr. Epstein is a past member of the editorial advisory committee of the Maine Bar Journal and has contributed numerous articles to that publication. He has been a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars and was formerly a member of the Civil Rules Advisory Committee to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.Mr. Epstein lives in Auburn and has been active in civic affairs and non-profit organizations in the Lewiston-Auburn area, including membership on the board of Museum L-A which he founded in 1994. He writes “Rearview Mirror,” an award-winning column on current affairs for the Lewiston Sun Journal, and in 2010 he published the book “Lucifer’s Child,” which explored the causes and implications of domestic abuse through a brutal 1984 child murder in Auburn. He formerly served on the Auburn School Committee and Planning Board. He is also a musician who plays trumpet with the Auburn Community Concert Band.On May 1, 2015, Mr. Epstein joined Andrucki & King. In addition to his work on family law cases, Mr. Epstein will continue his general trial and appellate practice.

I do not recommend hiring this lawyer. He is at the end of his career. I hired him for 7-8 months and he did nothing for me. He just kept charging me every month and when I needed to talk to him he never answered my phone calls or text messages or my e mails in a timely manner. In fact he ignored a lot of my concerns many times. Not only that, I felt that he was acting against my interests and he was not proactive to anticipate issue and let me know my options. He was all the time driven by the other party lawyers and going with the what the other party wants. I finally got fed up with the way that he was handling my case and fired him .
