Joy was great at catching and explaining things that my ex’s lawyer attempted to sneak in the settlement agreement. She, or her staff, kept me updated regularly on updates and changes in the process, I highly recommend her.
Joy worked very hard on my case even on weekend hours to make sure that I was afforded the opportunity to see my daughter. She had a tremendous fight against her considering what she was up against but she came through and I couldn't be happier with the results.
Joy helped me and my wife gain custody of two young girls who came from an abusive household. As a 3rd party, this was a daunting task, but Joy stuck with it for months and we won custody of the girls at trial. I could not recommend Joy enough, both as a lawyer and a human being.
I was recommended to Ms. Chappell to handle my separation/divorce, property settlement and child custody issues. Due to some disagreements during my separation, she advised me of some options I would not have known I had, ones that benefited me in the long run. She walked me through everything from separation to property separation tactics to the final divorce. I always felt confident in the courtroom and at scheduled appointments because I truly felt she was looking for things that suited my best interest. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know.
My son hired her for a child custody case. Don’t waste your money!! She did nothing for him but take money that he had to fight to get in order to go to court. The only thing she did was consulted with other lawyer to come up with visitation schedule then she went off and left us to deal with the opposing lawyer which of course lied to us. Several things in the original agreement was changed since Joy went off and left us and was not there to check over it and advise us to the changes. My son did not realize there had been changes until after he signed it because he had not been given the opportunity to read it plus it was in the opposing lawyers handwriting and was scribble. When it was brought before the judge he did not go over the visitation order that was written up so we didn’t know until later when we got the temporary order. While in front of the judge she would not even speak on behalf of my son and he asked her if she was not going to speak for him and she said you can speak if you want. When he tried to the judge told him to be quiet. She asked him how much money do you have today. He told her. She then told him to give it to his ex wife. I would have given her no stars if I could. She just took money my son didn’t have to begin with so unless you have money to throw away find a lawyer that will earn what you pay them for.
