I probably know Josh and his work better than any client here. In addition, I have probably hired more lawyers than anyone here. Josh helped me with a massively complex estate issue (including quiet title, homestead devise litigation, partition, and probate administration, and litigation). In addition, Josh has helped me numerous times with regulatory guidance for a company I own. Josh is probably the smartest attorney I know. You won't find someone that digs into the details as he does. Oh, and he listens and considers client input (unlike most attorneys).
Joshua helped me with a landlord dispute. He is very knowledgeable and very professional. I recommend Joshua for any landlord/tenant issue . Heather W Property Manager for Mosswood apartments
Mr. Porter was a fantastic attorney. He understood my frustrations as he successfully negotiated the waters of a very tricky automobile repair dispute and secured a settlement for me. I was very pleased with the way his efforts were rewarded. His fees were very reasonable and he was always very responsive to my needs and questions. I utilized only a small area of his skill set in this case, and would recommend him without hesitation to any person wishing for expert legal advice and representation. Thank you, Mr. Porter! Your counsel was most helpful.
Circumstances put me in a bad situation (Ch 13 bankruptcy, loss of job, Ch 7 bankruptcy) and with no previous experience of it (bankruptcy and giving up my house), I was stressed, confused, and frustrated such that my health was beginning to suffer. I went into the bankruptcy with foreknowledge, but I contacted Mr. Porter when I could not get clear, concise answers about surrendering my house from other lawyers who worked the bankruptcy. Mr. Porter explained and reassured me of the process and was patient when I allowed my stress to build up again and again. He also practiced a great deal of patience when I would try to take shortcuts and would inform him after the fact. The worst incident was when I was contacted by a real estate agent who said he represented the bank to which I had surrendered the house at the Ch 7 bankruptcy and I was talked into signing documents for a short sale. I learned from the bank that in my case the house was not eligible for short sale or deed in lieu, so I didn't understand how or why the real estate agent made a contract with me. When I informed Mr. Porter, he found out that the agent did not represent the bank and he attended a meeting with me and the agent to resolve the situation and saved me from signing yet another document that would not have voided the contract because the real estate agent filled in the documents incorrectly. Since then, I am allowing the process to continue in its course (it takes time!), and I will work with Mr. Porter at the conclusion of the process to begin rebuilding my credit.
I paid a retainer of 1500.00. This lawyer charged me for 2 hours and then would not refund the remaining money. He would never return any phone calls and was very hard to get in contact with after paying the deposit. Be careful if you deal with this guy.
