Melanie Joy Vanoverloop agreed to represent me in a wrongful death case after another downtown lawyer strung me along for over a year. Melanie and another lawyer interviewed me over the phone and accepted the case immediately. She became my lawyer in April 2012 and arranged everything to break my connection to the lawyer and firm that had done nothing for me in almost a year. Melanie's team handled probate and filed a wrongful death and survivor action against the retirement community where my mother had lived. My mother had been injured in the facility and the injuries lead to her death. Melanie and her team took me step by step through the written inquiry process and the written deposition, She was quick to return phone calls and her advice and direction was easy to understand. She was so thorough that the case was settled without going through the oral deposition process. In January 2014 Melanie gave me the news that the retirement community's insurance company was ready to settle for one million dollars. In just a little over a year Melanie had the entire case handled and settled. By April 2014 we had settlement checks and peace knowing that this retirement community had taken responsibility for their treatment of our mother.
Melanie was always very proffesional and handled everything in a timely manner. i would highly recommend Melanie
