President: Sauer Family Law, PCE-mail: [email protected]"I diligently, passionately and assertively represent my clients in family law cases. They have entrusted me with an important part of their lives, and that fact is always first and foremost in my mind as I work on their case. My goal is to effectively and aggressively represent every one of my clients and make sure they understand each step of the legal process.""A party in a family law case deserves counsel who will strategize, communicate regularly, and actively work with the client directly during all aspects of his case. I make this promise, and fulfill it, throughout my representation of my client." Education:University of Colorado School of Law, J.D., 2003University of Wyoming, B.A., 2000, with HonorsBiography:Josh was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and grew up on a family farm just outside of Loveland, Colorado, where he learned to appreciate the value and importance of hard work and self-motivation. Josh's three brothers, baby sister and two great parents have contributed to Josh's decision to practice family law, and represent clients in an effort to empower them to move forward with a family structure that will keep their children in a thriving environment. A Colorado native, Josh enjoys the high quality of life, opportunity, and environment that Colorado offers.Josh began representing parties in family law matters in 2004, and is a highly regarded Denver divorce attorney. Josh recognizes that a dissolution of marriage, or litigation concerning parenting time, are highly emotional and negative times for families. Josh has worked hard to reduce the contention and hostility in family law cases, without backing off of his clients' important objectives and desires for their case.Josh has successfully represented hundreds of clients through a difficult time in their lives to achieve positive results in their cases. Josh's proven approach is to listen to the needs and goals of his clients, and then pursue those goals as if they were his own. Every family is different, each with its own unique needs and characteristics. Josh has always been on top of making sure that each of his clients knows that Josh is completely committed to their case and ensuring that they understand each step of the legal process.Memberships: Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, Larimer Bar Association.

If you are looking for a top notch lawyer! You have found him! Josh worked relentlessly on my case, and he had an uphill battle! My case was very serious with many odds against me, and several obstacles to tackle but Josh advocated for me and fought for me every step of the way! He was detailed and thorough, and let nothing slide. HE DOES NOT GIVE UP! He is a hard working, AMAZING lawyer. I was so blessed to have him represent me. This was the second time he represented me in the same case. When I hired Josh, I hadn't talked to or visited my daughter in FOUR YEARS. In the end, I got joint custody, and will be seeing my daughter shortly! In a case, where everyone said I would get no where with!!! Josh saw otherwise, and sifted through every detail in the case, and its a long one. He spent hours talking to me, helping me through everything every step of the way!!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ONE OF THE BEST LAWYERS AROUND! HIRE JOSH! I can't believe he has not been nominated for Super Lawyer because he is THE BEST OF THE BEST! My family and I will always be grateful for the work Josh has done for us. THANK YOU JOSH FOR FIGHTING FOR WHAT WAS RIGHT! And for fighting for my beloved daughter!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! GOOD JOB!!!
Josh is a pleasure to work with not only on a professional level, but on a personal level as well. I've worked with various attorneys in both my business dealings as well as my personal matters. We have learned to expect the highest level of service from our attorneys and have found that Josh exceeds expectations in every dealing.
Joshua Sauer is a reliable lawyer. He understands the law and worked diligently on my case. I felt comfortable with decisions that were made, and Joshua always kept me updated on a regular basis. He responded promptly to my calls and emails; and he made me feel comfortable and secure during a child custody process that is, in most cases, stressful. I would definitely recommend Joshua Sauer for all Family and child custody cases.
Josh worked on my case for months, fighting against my husband and his lawyer every inch of the way. He just wouldn't give up. My husband was abusive and tried the same thing in court. Didn't work with Josh - Josh just pushed back even harder. I felt protected, safe and well represented by Josh. I highly recommend him. I know he'll do the right thing for you too.
UNETHICAL AND OVERCHARGES! I WISH I HAD KNOWN BEFOREHAND! Charge of $300 from retainer referred to as "retention fee" which they never itemized--client of theirs for LESS THAN 2 MONTHS. Only their client for under 2 months, starting in August 2012 and ending Sept. the same year, but he charged me a mysterious $300 "retention" fee on my first and only bill. In an 8/28 and 8/29/12 emails and a 9/3/12 paper letter, I specifically asked for an itemized list detailing what work was done, when and how much things cost to justify this fee before I would pay. (This is SEPARATE from the amount of money for lawyer time I owed. That was legitimate time incurred by a different attorney there and was promptly paid--no dispute over what they charged for legal WORK actually done). I got a bill in mid August for $660. $360 was for lawyer time, which I PAID in a timely manner. $300 charged was listed as a "retention fee" which I refused to pay until further explanation was given. I never received an explanation/itemization in writing of what the fee entailed. In fact, staff appeared reluctant to address this issue because I believe they themselves did not really know what this fee covered. In a late August 2012 phone call, the person on the phone admitted the retention fees referred ONLY to in-house administrative things like making paper photo copies, conflict of interest check, and making paper and computer files--that is it. In other words, this fee does NOT cover court filing costs or ANY real costs the firm incurred while working on my behalf. While working with me between Aug-Sept. 2012, the light photocopying, file making, paper and ink usage incurred on my behalf was grossly under $300. They gave me standard paper copies of forms to fill out, nothing more. This charge is totally unethical. Undoubtedly, businesses exist to make money. They should not, however, be charging $300 for "retention" and be unable to substantiate the amount, particularly as it relates to a very short term client.
