Joshua Lewis graduated from LSU law in 2010. In addition to his law degree, he holds a graduate diploma in Civil Law from LSU, recognizing his study and knowledge of the structure and substance of the laws contained in the Louisiana Civil Code, based on the system of law Louisianians followed during the time of Napoleon and France’s ownership of Louisiana. However, he has also taken (and passed) bar exams in both Missouri and Mississippi, both based on English common law.While living in Baton Rouge, Joshua served as an assistant District Attorney in the 23rd Judicial District, initially prosecuting misdemeanors and then all drug related felonies in Ascension parish.This valuable experience allowed him to try cases on a regular basis to a judge or jury. He has also served as the general counsel for the Louisiana Regional Airport, the Ascension Parish Tourism Commission, and the St. James Parish School Board.Joshua has helped recover millions of dollars for his clients, especially in the area of serious injury and wrongful death. In addition to Louisiana, Missouri and Mississippi, Joshua has also represented clients in Alabama, Arkansas, Texas and Florida. He is licensed in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana and in several other State and Federal Courts outside of Louisiana.Joshua is active in community programs to help those struggling with alcohol and substance abuse. He is a proud and active member of his church, First Apostolic Church of Lafayette. He is married and has four children.
