About

From the beginning of his career, Rob Richardson has represented individuals in employment and civil rights matters. Since joining the firm, he has represented employees in all areas of employment law, including matters involving discrimination or harassment, wrongful discharge, free speech, non-compete agreements, employment contracts, fraud, promissory estoppel, negligent misrepresentation, defamation, and other statutory and common law claims. Rob regularly represents employees in state and federal court, as well as in arbitration proceedings. Rob is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only organization of the Nation’s most experienced and distinguished trial lawyers. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America, for employment law, each and every year since 2006. Inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America is the result of peer selection and represents the top 1% of the specified field. Rob has also been selected as a Connecticut Super Lawyer each year since 2006. In 2011 and 2012, Rob was selected as one of the Top 50 Connecticut Super Lawyers. Rob is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the state courts of the State of Connecticut. He is a frequent lecturer on topics related to employment law and has spoken at several seminars sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Association and several conferences for the National Employment Lawyers’ Association. He has also published multiple articles on topics related to employment law. During his career, Rob has been appointed to serve on several committees, including the Federal Grievance Committee for the District of Connecticut, a Federal Magistrate Merit Review Panel, the Connecticut Bar Association’s Task Force on Multi-Jurisdictional Practice, and the Connecticut Bar Association’s Committee on Professional Ethics. He also served, by appointment, as a member of the Executive Board for the Connecticut Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section. Rob has held leadership positions in various professional organizations. He is Vice President of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and has been a member of the NELA executive board since 2006. He served as a member of the Board of Governors for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Connecticut. He also served as the Vice President of the New Haven Inn of Court. Rob received his Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State College of Law. He was a managing editor of the Ohio State Law Journal, a recipient of the Judge Joseph M. Haerter Memorial Award, and a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award. He also interned for the Honorable Herbert R. Brown of the Supreme Court of Ohio.
