the first year i had him as an attorney and he was very diligent with our time and got things going and done faster than i had expected. But unfortunantly when i used him a second time. he would take way to much time to answer my questions that i had for him. His assistant nearly did all his work. He eventually moved but failed to tell myself or any other clients where he was relocating too, i then found VIA the courthouse that he was at the public defenders office. When i went to that office, They said that he no longer works for them and no one knows where he is at. There are lots of people who have complained about him vanishing from open cases. This is completely unprofessional. specially since he still has my case and is currently "active" and No i have to jump through hoops to have him removed his case.
He would schedule meetings with me and then not be there, he would take ages to respond to emails or phone calls if he ever did, told me that my case would be simple and that there was nothing to worry about, then withdrew from my case MONTHS before I found out. He never filed anything with the courts, all he did was type up a parenting plan and print it out for me. He took my money, said he forgot to tell me he was stopping his practice to go work for the public defenders office and has yet to reimburse me what I am owed.
This lawyer had no interest in my case whatsoever. He promised me the world. He told me I could do whatever I want, including move out of state. Then he perjured himself and misrepresented me at the same...claiming he had no idea where I was....among other falsehoods. Joshua Carl then withdrawals from my case immediately after cashing his last paycheck from me, and claims he regrets not doing it sooner. I sincerely hope he regrets it as much as I regret it; as much as the disastrous consequences of misled counsel. As I look back upon the experiences....he clearly had no interest in my case whatsoever, and would tell me anything necessary to usher me out of the door with a smile. I would strongly recommend against hiring this attorney....you are much better of studying the law and taking chances on your own.
He only gets one star because I can't give hime less. He took my money, assured me he was there to help, then never filed a single document with the courts to protect me from my Ex. He allowed me to get divorced without legal rep, I lost my rights to my kids, and when he asked me to allow him to make it right, 8 months later he still wasn't there. Hire hime if you want, but you have been warned. I'm also going to file a complaint with the Montana Bar Association and BBB.
