About
I am Joseph Zoucha and I am an experienced trial lawyer in California. I am focused on helping my clients by providing assertive representation in the courtroom, as well as straightforward and practical advice. Despite what you’ve heard, the legal system does work to help resolve legal issues. When you retain me, you get me — not just an inexperienced assistant who is in control of your file. Nothing gets filed in any of my clients’ files, which has not been personally reviewed and placed in the file by me. When I walk into court I am completely familiar with my clients’ cases and do not have to depend on an assistant explaining the situation to me.My practice of law is a hands-on practice. I use one highly experienced paralegal who has worked with me for more than 20 years and I am proud to say that nearly all the legal work done in a file of mine is personally performed by me. I oversee any outside personnel and expert consultation-making decisions to what will and won’t be used from outside resources. I do occasionally oversee young lawyers who intern in my practice who provide valuable assistance to me and my cases.Just like other trial lawyers, I have a range of outside experts I use when preparing a case. You would be surprised how many attorneys are prepped by legal assistants hours before the trial, and it is important to know I am not one of them.Recognized And Respected In California By Other Attorneys. My focus is not becoming a famous attorney whose picture you will see in newspapers, magazines and television. I keep my clients’ cases as private as I can. I have tried several newsworthy jury trials where the press contacted me on a daily basis for information but because I focus on my clients best interest, not mine, I declined to provide newsworthy comment. My focus is to help stabilize your life. I am a family man who has a stable marriage excess of 30 years. My wife and I have raised 3 wonderful children all of whom graduated from top tier universities. My wife’s career is in education. I believe in stability and one of my goals is to help resolve your legal problem and reestablish stability in your personal life. I have had cases referred to me by famous well know attorneys throughout the state of California and am proud of the confidence they placed in me. I would like to think those attorneys know that I put my client’s interests first rather than focusing on self promotion.Focused Attention On ClientsBecause my approach combines a one-on-one personalized attention fused with comprehensive family law and personal injury experience, many of my past clients use me as a referral for family members and friends. I understand what a “normal” person experiences in life because I also live a normal life. I have been active in the community and in the rearing of my children. I have coached children’s sports and know what it feels like when problems arise, because I am just like you.I am very proud to say that I have actually received referrals from the former spouses of my clients who respected my transparent, forthright, efficient, honest and open communication during the entire divorce proceeding, and the fact that I want everyone to be treated with dignity.Contact An Experienced Redwood City Divorce Lawyer And Personal Injury LawyerThere is never a charge for your first consultation. To schedule a meeting with me, please call 650-381-9591 or complete a short contact form. I live five minutes from my office, so I spend more time working on my clients cases then I do having to commute to an office far away from home – including on weekends. I routinely meet with clients on weekends when as it is more convenient for them.My office, located one block from the San Mateo County Courthouse and two minutes from Highway 101, offers free parking and a two-block walk from the Caltrain with connections to BART. I am available Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., though I frequently am able to see clients after hours.

I was referred to Joe by a friend, who said that Joe's a real bulldog. When he takes a case, he won't let go until he wins. I was happy when Joe agreed to take my personal injury case. The other side tried to brush off our claims, but Joe the Bulldog wouldn't take "no" for an answer. He negotiated a fair settlement, and received a fair fee. It was great dealing with an attorney who is much smarter than most attorneys, well versed in the law, and not an ambulance chaser. I hope never to be injured again. But if i do, i wouldn't use anyone else. I highly recommend Joe.
Joe was brought in by my origional lawyer to litigate my complicated case. The paperwork for my case filled a 5' wide shelf! Joe is super star and well respected in the legal community. Joe handled my case with kid gloves and got me the most $$ he could for my case. I highly recommend that you speak to Joe about your legal issues.
Updated review: Joe has advised me on numerous issues (personal injury, premises liability, employment, auto/ motor vehicle accident, damaged property over the last 7+ years, and he has been absolutely above and beyond professional, responsive, effective, helpful, and kind. Whenever I hear of family, friends, or clients who have been injured, I always confidently give them Joe’s information because I know they are in good hands with him. He’s very straightforward. If he can help, he will. He gives sound advice and is very efficient and thorough about knowing what to do in various situations and proactively handling the important issues. After 7+ years of working with him on various issues, I extremely highly recommend Joe. Original review: A well-reviewed attorney in Palo Alto referred me to Joe & spoke very highly of him, saying he consistently takes on challenging cases & has a long track record of success with such cases, especially in personal injury & family law. There are a lot of attorneys in the bay area, & it was clear that other attorneys recognize his legal abilities & respect him. I was injured & was getting the run-around & being treated very unprofessionally FOR MONTHS by the company (& their insurance company) that was responsible for my injury. Once I began working with Joe, their demeanor changed IMMEDIATELY. He helped me with my personal injury case... because of him, I got EXTREMELY FAVORABLE RESULTS... & FAST. I was very impressed. Joe is very effective, knowledgeable, & efficient. He is an experienced trial lawyer and has taken many cases to jury verdicts. He offers practical & straightforward advice that was extremely helpful to me, & he took the time to meet with me on several Saturdays. He was entirely professional - patiently & thoroughly explained things I did not understand & comprehensively answered all questions/ concerns I had. I would most definitely use him again for any of my legal needs, & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him.
Divorce is always difficult but mine was even harder because I live in NJ and my ex lives in California. I had to find an attorney online and hope for the best. Well I got the best, Joseph Zoucha. Even though we never met we were able to communicate via email and phone calls and developed a great working relationship. He was able to guide me through the negotiation process so that I got a better settlement than I hoped for. Joseph made sure I was satisfied that my settlement would provide enough for me and my daughter. I highly recommend Joseph Zoucha, Attorney in Redwood City, California
This is the attorney you have been looking for! Really, whoever says that? Joe was recommended by a friend who was involved in a complex divorce. My friend was actually smiling as he recommended Joe, again, who does that? Upon meeting Joe he makes the daunting process of a divorce into understandable steps and literally he walks through the process with you. You simply have to listen to an attorney who has over 30 years of experience, whose has a list of former clients who are smiling and recommend him without a second thought, and the process is made easier by his great attitude. His response time to issues and/or queries is amazing. Listen, my divorce is a nightmare, with my ex going through not one, not two, not three, but FOUR high powered San Francisco and Marin attorneys; Joe never even batted an eye and was a rock through the process. Joe has dealt with my case, again literally, as he was traveling. Once, he negotiated with the opposing counsel from a canyon in Yosemite on a dying cell phone, problem solved. Another time he was a top the Swiss Alps, dictated an ex parte writ to deal with visitation issues, and went directly from SFO to court when he landed! Problem solved! I have received emails/voicemails/text responses on Sundays, he is tireless and dogged. If you have read this far, then you deserve to read this part of the review. I was a graduate student when this began, and Joe didn't let my lack of ability to pay fees timely stop him from doing everything necessary to protect my rights and Joe’s fees are FAR MORE REASONABLE than the fee’s my Ex was/is paying. In court he is savvy, suave and direct. While maintaining a very professional demeanor, Joe is a LION! All the opposing counsels respected him and this helps immensely with negotiations, stipulations, and the messy court dates. Again, this is your next attorney!
Mr. Joseph Zoucha represented me in a case. Mr. Zoucha is not one of the more competent attorneys I worked with, but it probably is not the worst attorney either. However, what really sets Mr. Zoucha apart from his colleagues is the absence of concern about the quality of his work or the outcomes for his client. Among other things, Mr. Zoucha: • Failed to prepare for the court hearing, and was not aware of even the basic facts about the case that were provided to him both verbally and in writing • Forgot to bring his paperwork to the court hearing • Failed to mention a number of key points during the court hearing • Attempted to file a poorly written and factually incorrect declaration, that also featured misnumbered bullet points and spelling mistakes • Filed an unapproved and unsigned declaration with the court, in spite of an explicit written request by the client • Claimed to have had a number of conversations with the opposing attorney, but refused to provide any evidence or even the details about when those interactions took place • Charged for a client conference that never took place • Claimed that he has a special relationship with the judge that would result in a favorable ruling In addition to the above, Mr. Zoucha ignored a number of requests, provided somewhat dubious advice, and failed to consider the documentation including the summaries and analyses he requested. Needless to say, the outcome was not favorable.
