I live out of state and needed a local attorney for a real estate matter concerning my deceased brother's home. Other attorneys I contacted in the area either told me it would be a several month process costing me exorbitant fees or failed to return my inquiry calls. I had researched all the attorneys I contacted. Then I called Mr. Weyant. He was knowledgeable and professional. After a consultation, Mr. Weyant advised me of the process to transfer ownership. Later the same day, I received a detailed e-mail from him after he'd visited the office of the Registrar of Deeds. I was provided with a detailed outline for resolving the specifics of my situation to effectively transfer the property. The fee for his service was reasonable. I met with Mr. Weyant the following week when I came to town to conclude the matter. I was impressed with Mr. Weyant because of his courteous, direct, and efficient manner. I felt he was doing his best for me in resolving my problem. He was also very accessible by phone when I called with questions. I highly recommend Mr. Weyant for those with needs in his areas of expertise. I was most pleased I found him.
I was referred to Joe by a friend who had an excellent experience using him for her divorce. I was hesitant because of the other review on this site. I knew my friend would not steer me wrong, so I decided to hire Joe. I am very glad I did. He was upfront with me about what Tennessee law allows. He fought hard for everything I wanted even though some requests were out of the ordinary. Some things we succeeded on and some things we didn't but he gave it his all. He always returned my calls if I had to leave a message and was always very professional. I would recommend Joe to anyone who asks me if I know a good lawyer!!
Apparently, I have to put a star when this lawyer does not deserve one. There should be a place for negative stars. 1. He never ever returns his clients phone calls. 2. He made us believe that he was working on the case and proved to be working for the opposing counsel. Very unprofessional and unethical. 3. He made promises to help us with a violent situation in which he made worse. He said that he had everything under control and he clearly failed to keep us in the loop and to effectively work for us. He failed to keep any of his promises to our children and to us. 4. We live at least 12 hours one-way away from Clarksville, TN and we had to drive down to Clarksville, TN to do his job. We drove to the businesses to get the documentation that was very important to our case, because he refused to do anything in the case. 5. He held a non-legal mock deposition and during that recording he berated me with the opposing counsel and side. According to the personal recording he did, it sounded like a three circus on the recording. He told us to stay away and not to come back to Tennessee for the recording and for the court hearing. 6. He refused to call me with his findings after he recorded the questions. He delayed getting me the time sensitive information until after the court hearing because he knew that I would not approve of the line of questioning. He never asked my questions. The way he asked his questions it sounded like he was interviewing the opposing side for a job interview. He clearly stated on the recording that he had a lot of problems with his family during the time his grandfather passed away. He allowed his personal experiences to effect his judgment in my case. That in our opinion is very unethical and unprofessional. 7. After he took our money, he then refused to help us. In our opinion, he defrauded us out of our money and time and our case by misrepresenting us and misrepresenting himself to us. 8. He mails all of the time sensitive documents in the slowest way possible. It took me 2 weeks to get the time sensitive documents he mailed. He always told me to overnight my information while he used the slowest form of mail. 9. We lost our case on these grounds: 1. He told us that he did not want us to come Clarksville, TN to appear in court. He said that he had everything under control. 2. He went to a judge and had himself removed from the case 5 days prior to the court date. 3. The judge sided with the opposing counsel because we were not there to state our objections. 4. Now our family is made to endure the violent abuse that the opposing side dishes out at us. They are still stealing from us. We are at a loss as to what our next course of action should be.
