First Interaction - Joe's professional demeanor alleviates any undo stress during one's personal accounting of their story. Additional questions as to the circumstances and history of the case were gently requested and powerfully analyzed. The preliminary brainstorming session wrapped everything into a manageable chunk and left me excited to right the wrong. First Appearance - During my first appearance, Joe fought for a Pre-trial Probation which the Assistant-DA pushed against. Joe pushed through the hurdles of government bureaucracy to ensure that the PTP would remain on the table. Second Appearance - After month's of contact with the court, the PTP was denied and a Trial date was set. This date would be pushed back three times, during which time I moved out of state. Trial One - My family and I met Joe after flying in from out-of-state and he assuaged my family that everything would be fine. He acquired two witnesses to testify on my behalf. After a six and a half hour wait, the trial was postponed, but Joe fought hard to have the issue ended that day (almost getting kicked out of the room). Trial Two - With due diligence, Joe came after the A-DA like a hurricane. He respectfully asked my guidance on all matters and how to pursue the trial, while giving top-notch advice. In the end, I was given PTP of 18 months. Joe is an amazing individual and I count myself lucky to have had him on my Team. Thank you Joe.
Although this was a long journey joseph Simons was there for me not just as a lawyer but as a friend as well , I am thankful and I am satisfied with his work and I would highly recommend him to anyone whom is in search of an excellent lawyer . Although this case was tough he always made sure i was okay and would always consult with me before making any decisions during the process. Never did I get to the point where I found a mistake I was very highly satisfied ! I thank him deeply for everything !
Joe and his team are true professionals when it comes to handling court cases in MA. I made the best decision of quickly retaining Joe after briefly speaking to him on the phone late night on a weekend! He was honest, punctual, diligent and very knowledgeable from the start and devised a legal strategy which led to a swift dismissal by the judge. I also had the opportunity of using his services for getting the record sealed, which was also successful. His team of lawyers and paralegal also went above and beyond in following up multiple times with court's office to make sure that the sealing paperwork was properly filed and signed. I'd recommend Simons law office to anybody who's looking for an exceptional representation.
I would highly recommend Joe for your lawyer. He was able to take care of my warrant without me having to appear in court. I live in California & he got my case dismissed. He was very informative. Definitely would hire him again.
It was an overall great experience working with Joe! I looked him up when in need of a lawyer and right away, within minutes Joe was on a phone call with me calming my nerves and laying out a plan. Joe answered all my questions and concerns with respect, kindness and acknowledgement of the stress the situation put me under. Joe is smart, kind and has a great demeanor about him. He got the dismissal I was looking for! Highly recommend him
Need a get out of jail free card? Then this lawyer is the guy for you! In Feb of this year I ran afoul with the law. Due to COVID my hearing with a Magistrate was postponed numerous times. This month the hearing finally took place. In those intervening months Joe kept me informed and got to know me so he could defend me in the best way he could. During the hearing, upon Joe’s advice, it would be better if I didn’t say anything and let him run the show. And run it he did. I never spoke, the Magistrate barely spoke other than to dismiss the case. So, here’s the bottom line. You got problems with Criminal defense, Federal crimes, DUI or DWI Joe is the lawyer for you.
I was arrested for domestic assault and battery against a family member. I pushed my wife at a bar. I’m an alcoholic and had been drinking. I struggle with mental health issues, bipolar, PTSD specifically. I had never done anything like that before and found myself in jail that night. My wife did not want to press charges and bailed me out the next day. It was a Sunday and my arraignment was scheduled for Monday. We were at a loss of what to do, thinking that it would be hard to find a lawyer on such short notice and on a Sunday. We researched lawyers online and found Joe. He had good reviews so we thought we would give him a call. He answered immediately and helped calm our anxieties. He listened to the whole story, asking for more details and getting to know myself and my wife. My wife and I were just out of school and did not know how to pay Joe. He was very understanding and allowed us to be on a payment plan. It was a very reasonable plan giving us 6 months to pay him. We were allowed to pay him when we were able to. He did not fix us at a monthly rate. We really appreciated him doing that. Not many people would have been so understanding. My case consisted of an arraignment, pretrial and plea trial. He called us before each court session to go over our plan and to calm our anxieties. He answered our calls / emails immediately whenever we reached out to him. It was very easy to get in touch with him. If he does not answer he will call you back the same day. He worked diligently with the prosecution and was able to get them to agree to a continuance without a finding, with the case dismissed after only 6 months of probation. The only thing I have to do is continue with therapy, which I would have done anyway. I do not have to take domestic violence classes or pay a large fine. The fine I do have to pay is only $300 paid over the course of my probation / $50 a month. Simons is a great attorney, and he kept us calm throughout the whole process, was there for us whenever we needed, was polite. We really felt like we had someone on our team who would defend us. He took a lot off our minds, as we felt in good hands. One thing that was great about him is that he was able to work out for us to go to court via phone. The case was in MA but my wife and I moved to AL. Joe was able to convince the prosecution to let us go to court remotely. He also made it so I can have my probation down in AL. There was some negotiating to do / ins and outs of transferring the probation and he did it all. I would recommend this lawyer to anyone. He knows how to work with people and thereby works easily with prosecutors. I think this is due to his good nature. He is not brash and knows how to clearly communicate with kindness. He is very level-headed and reasonable. I think his personality played in our favor, as he works well with others. Hopefully I never find myself in court again, but if I do, I’m going to call Simons again. Couldn’t recommend him enough!
I would be lying to say I knew attorney Joseph Simons for a long time. I meet via phone conversation after I googled criminal lawyers. At first, I was skeptical of the stellar five stars from 37 participants. Hence, I read each review. The common theme was professional, candid, and patient. So, my case was unique due to the circumstance, but nevertheless, the ramification of a guilty verdict would have life long consequences. Before, the actual court summons, I was fortunate to document every incident with the plaintiff. Therefore, when I provided what I had to Mr. Simons, it was more than enough. Yet, I was still nervous. After we discussed the preliminary strategy, I was a little bit at ease. During the hearing, Mr. Simons did not aggressively cross-examine the plaintiff but asked one thought-provoking question that warranted the plaintiff to validate the truth. Furthermore, it prompted the judge to reread the plaintiff’s affidavit. From there, the judge proceeded to ask the plaintiff further questions, which led to the case being dismissed. I was fortunate, but graceful to have a lawyer who was poised enough to understand the situation and ask the right question that allowed the judge to see/understand the truth. Again, not everyone is fortunate even if they are telling the truth or innocent. But, I am glad Mr. Simons was in my corner. He was professional during our phone conversations, candid with the possible outcomes and possible fees, and patient with his approach to the case and addressing the plaintiff’s accusations.
I had many legal questions, and I called Joe for a free consultation. Joe spent alot of time with me and even looked at the legal documents for me. Being the first time in a legal situation, and in the middle of this coronavirus panademic, he put me at ease, really helped me.
I was originally told by a friend to reach out to Joe after being charged with an OUI back in November, 2019. Throughout the entirety of this otherwise frustrating, slow process, Joe was always in frequent communication, is very approachable and easy to talk to, and got me the best possible result for my case through his persistent advocacy on my behalf. He is a truly excellent attorney and I would gladly hire him again without hesitation.
