About
I spend my days in court fighting for people who have been accused of a crime and representing people who have been severely injured. In the criminal arena, I have been defending citizens accused of crimes for over a decade, and I know what it takes to handle tough cases. Regardless of the issue, I am a trial lawyer who puts the needs of my clients first. A large part of my criminal practice is focused on drug and alcohol cases - Specifically, marijuana defense and DUI defense.I am an active member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a graduate from the TACDL Trial Attorney’s College and Advanced Trial Skills College. I know the law and will apply the law to your facts to develop a specific litigation plan that I will execute. I will spend time with you and get to know you and your situation and help you manage the case.

Mr. Fuson helped our family navigate a very scary Zero Tolerance Offense with our county school board and a petition with the juvenile court. From the very first call to his office, we knew we had found the right team to represent our son. Mr. Fuson immediately understood our unique situation (legal hemp possession charged as a marijuana offense) and gave us excellent guidance from day one. Mr. Fuson’s unrivaled expertise with the current and constantly changing TN cannabis law and grace and eloquence handling our school board appeal resulted in the best outcome we could have hoped for. The entire office demonstrated kindness and professionalism which was reflected in their good relationships with the court and opposing counsel. Not only did he provide excellent representation for our son, but he was also able to inform and educate the school board and even the court about the nuances of hemp and marijuana law. He truly changed the course of our son’s future.
As a first-time DUI defendant, having Joey on my side made me feel at ease throughout the process and he truly did deliver during my hearing. He is honest, easy to work with, and genuinely cares for his clients. He will do everything for you to reach the best possible legal outcome regardless of your offense.
I had a Tennessee hand gun carry permit application denied by Homeland Security because they said I was disqualified due to a felony from 1996 in another state. My charges had been reduced to a misdemeanor, so I didn't know why it was denied. I went down to my local General Sessions Court to inquire and show proof that my charges had in fact been reduced. Little did I know that the clerk was going to set up a date for me to sue the State. The clerk said I should get legal advice on whether I need an attorney to represent me. My neighbor, who is an attorney, recommended Joey Fuson. I gave a call and he and Paige got on it right away. When the court date arrived, I met with Joey, and he had already had a conversation with the D.A. and said the State would sign off on the permit if there were certified copies from the other state showing the reduction in charges. Turns out the other state involved was somewhat unresponsive, and took a little while to produce the documents, which was not too surprising since the case dated back 24 years. I did receive regular updates from Joey, Paige and Nicholas. Flash forward 5 weeks, I received an email from Nicholas stating that all documentation had been received and Tennessee Homeland Security had updated my application to Approved! I am so pleased to have chosen and worked with Joey Fuson. He and his stellar team worked hard to help me with my hand gun carry permit issue. I really could not recommend them enough. Thank you Joey, Paige and Nicholas!
Rutherford Co. Sheriffs wasted 3 months of their time investigating me, watched my (legal) online business, saw (legal) packages coming in and out of my house, assumed the worst and raided my house to find 2 oz of personal use pot and my family's heirloom firearms. They charged me harshly with four felonies, and threatened up to three more, as well as, threatened to charge my wife (who didn't even smoke pot) with a felony. Joey got two charges dropped, two knocked down to misdemeanors and made sure my wife was not charged. He took what could have been a lengthy stint in jail and turned it into 23 months probation, with only a small part of that being supervised. His "bedside manner" was excellent, and though he is a busy man that can be hard to reach sometimes, he always made me feel that I was important as his client. I would hire Joey again in a heartbeat. He took what could have been a horrible situation and made it pan out as best as it could possibly have.
We are from Ohio and got stopped in Tennessee. Joey defended my 18 year old son against 5 charges including DUI and possession. Actually got all but one charge dismissed which was reckless operation. Unbelievable. Unsupervised 32 hours community service and will be expunged. Don't hesitate to hire him. He is amazing and a great guy.
I hired Joey for a domestic violence case. It was a little different as in my girlfriend didn't call the cops, undercover cops were following us in downtown Nashville and thought they saw something they did not. After making a few calls to other attorneys and not feeling very confident, I called Joey and felt at ease. I had a lot riding on the outcome of this case and he understood that. After speaking to my girlfriend and myself, there was never a doubt in my mind that he didn't believe us. It felt like he wanted to get to know us as a couple and individually. He made a very stressful situation become bearable and was able to get all charges thrown out quickly. Joey Fuson isn't just a great attorney, he's an admirable person that truly cares about his clients.
Mr. Fuson has been representing my partner over the last year. He and his team were able to work out a very satisfactory settlement after many delays and roadblocks put forth by the state.
Mr Fuson was my attorney for multiple cases and what I can say I most appreciated was how simple he made it to communicate. This left me never ill at ease with where things stood. He is knowledgeable and certainly experienced in Williamson County. There really is nothing more I can say except hire him!!
I was extremely pleased with Mr. Fuson in my child custody case. I didn't feel like just a client. I could tell that he actually cared and did a great job fighting for me and my little girl. I would (and have) gladly recommend him to anyone that would listen. I had a lot of questions and he was excellent and responding to me in a timely manner. He went above and beyond and I was very pleased.
This attorney is fantastic and on point! I got a simple possession citation in a tough small town, while it was pending I got another simple possession and paraphernalia in a different county heading to a concert (sounds dumb I know but it can happen to you too!). Joey was able to keep the two counties from finding out about each other and one county completely dismissed the charges and expunged them and I didn't pay a dollar for it. Joey is VERY affordable and he knows his stuff and is dedicated to the cause. His fees are way less than any other attorneys around and he will get you great results!! In one of my cases the officers lost my ticket in their booking office and bc of this a warrant went out for my arrest. The cop showed up at my work at 10:30 at night and when I called Joey he responded immediately and talked to the officer and talked me through the whole way convincing the officer to let me stay at work. I highly recommend this attorney and will be using him again for any issues I may have in the future.
