Mr. Terpin has been extremely helpful in providing counsel on complex family law matters. His willingness to give thoughtful well-informed information made the process easier to understand and reduced my family's stress considerably. I trust his guidance and regularly refer client matters outside the scope of my practice for him to resolve.
John was very helpful when I contacted him for a consultation. Showed interest in helping me out since the beginning and was quick with getting in touch. I'm much more confident now with the whole process having had a professional specialized in this field (immigration) answering my questions. Also, he was super nice and patient when speaking to me on the phone. I really appreciate having had his help. Thanks John!
During 2011-2013 John helped me with the process to change my Visa Status. The school I was enrolled in committed several mistakes leading the change of visa from a J1 to an F1 that eventually the Visa was denied and the case was cancelled in two different occasions. John finally took care of the process and later on had to intervened with the school to avoid having me paying the fees that the USCIS required in order to re-open my case. After waiting for a long time I did get my Visa. John charged me a fee that took in consideration my financial situation.
John handled contracts and publishing for my band, Tubaluba. We worked together from 2011-2013. John was always quick to respond to my questions with a clear and concise explanation of the legalities involved. He handled all performance contracts and helped us set up a rather complicated publishing company involving 8 unequal members. He handled a potentially emotionally charged situation with intelligence and humor.
The thing I liked most about John was his relaxed, hands on approach to my case. He was personable and professional and dedicated to helping me solve my legal issues on time and on budget. I'd work with him again, I only wish he lived in NY which is where I live now thanks to John's help.
Divorce can be such a messy ordeal, especially when a child is involved. The first time I met with John Terpin, I had no idea what I needed to do legally to pursue my divorce and assure that everything was covered for the well being of my child. Even the mention of paperwork left me feeling frazzled and overwhelmed. I was immediately put at ease by John's friendly and relaxed attitude as he thoroughly and easily explained the process and went over the paperwork with me in ways I could understand. I actually found myself having a pleasant time in a situation that could have otherwise been traumatic and heartbreaking. John was always willing and available to answer any questions I had throughout the process regarding specifics of the divorce and parenting plan. I was awarded full custody of my daughter and very well articulated boundaries regarding her time spent in her father's care. Even now, years later, I know I can still contact John with any questions i have or insecurities that need reassuring. I would fully recommend him to anyone looking for legal advice and will continue to use his services in the future.
I contacted Mr. Terpin to ask for help in preparing procedural rules for a non-profit organization that I am involved in. Mr. Terpin was extremely responsive and helpful in reviewing my proposed administrative rules and gave our organization a lot of great insight. He has proven to be a very well rounded attorney in not only having the skill and knowledge to help my organization, but has also provided legal advice to friends and colleagues in the areas of family law, immigration and contracts. He never charges a consultation fee and is very trustworthy in his billing practices, only charging for actual work done. I highly recommend this attorney for any legal need.
John has helped me on many occasions. He is always extremely professional, available and goes the "extra mile" to ensure that I am comfortable, informed and at ease regardless of the complexity of the situation. I highly recommend him. He is well versed in many areas of law and has helped me and many of my friends. He is also well connected to other attorneys and willing to refer a case to a colleague who specializes in a particular practice area. He always looks out for his clients' best interests and is very generous with his time and billing. In short, he suits the needs of his clients. He will even meet clients outside of his office at a place and time that is more convenient and comfortable for them.
