I have used John multiple times on a variety of issues. Over my 40 years in business, I have met many attorneys so I know the difference between good and bad. When I spend my money on legal services, I like to get the best advice I can at a fair price. I also like to do business with people I like; people like John. John is prompt and his hourly rates are reasonable. I have relied on his advice many times and he has never let me down.
I went to Mr. Reed for a ridiculous expensive traffic ticket and he reduced the price for me and the whole thing was off of my plate in 1 week!
I hired John to handle a simple traffic ticket over two years ago. Next thing I know he was representing me in a personal injury action and then a divorce. If it wasn't for John and his office my life would be a total mess. Words cannot express my gratitude to him and his office for helping me through every step of the way. His knowledge of the law is only surpassed by his patience and kindness toward me and all of my family. I was a mess and he totally helped me keep it all together. I seriously can't believe some of these reviews left on here? I feel like I must write something to defend him since this is DEFINITELY NOT the lawyer I hired? And I am not anonymous either like one of the other reviewers said?! John worked with me on payment too and even though I was always late to Court, he was early, and he always made sure he covered for me. He is a just a great man and I am glad I have him on my side. It is true, he is a best kept secret for sure!
I am grateful I found an attorney that understood my issues and worked diligently to help me complete the divorce process. He understood when I walked two times prior from filing, he understood and gave great counsel. I have and will continue to refer John, a true man of integrity.
I am not paid to write this and John has no knowledge of my review. My name is Cliff and I reside in the KC Metro Are. I will tell you that I have had John as a personal attorney for over 10 years on multiple issues from traffic tickets , divorce, to legal issues involving kids and a traffic accident. He may not communicate his thoughts on what direction he wants to take your case until he has time to " feel out the Judge and opposing counsel" But I will tell you that in over 10 instances of representation I have never lost a case with him. He is a " Bulldog in the court room " and I want a dog who can fight on my side. As to money ... If you follow your commitment and pay him on time , I am sure he will work with you on any issue to find resolve. His partnership team of Dave Kelly and and Casey Symonds, are a good group that strategize on the best way to take your case. Again I will tell you I think he is the best kept secret in law here in KC.
Our family hired John to represent a family member in court and we did not have a good experience with him at all. We chose him because his rates were cheaper than other lawyers but regretted hiring him and ended up hiring a different attorney. John was very late to court, did not communicate well and showed irritability. We would not recommend this attorney.
Retained Mr. Reed, he took my money, repeatedly stated he worked for me however he continually stated he did not believe I had the money to continue. I had given specific instructions on how to handle the divorce and custody issue, in writing, twice. Mr. Reed blatantly ignored and went against these written instructions which were well within normal requests, nothing outlandish or unreasonable. Be forewarned, Mr. Reed did not represent to the "best of his abilities" nor uphold his sworn oaths to the State and Courts, nor to his employment contract signed with me, his client.
