About

Patrick is a litigation Partner with Copeland, Stair, Kingma & Lovell, LLP.  He is a 1998 graduate of Clemson University (B.S. in Financial Management – cum laude).  He received his J.D. from Charleston School of Law (summa cum laude), winning numerous awards in Legal Research and Writing, Contracts, Domestic Relations, and Damages.  Patrick’s practice focuses primarily on liability defense of contractors, developers, business owners, and professionals (such as architects, engineers, and attorneys) in large-scale, complex civil litigation, including malpractice claims and construction/design project disputes. Patrick also practices in the commercial/general liability arena, including “dram shop,” fire, premises liability, and personal injury cases.  He handles cases at the trial and appellate court levels.  Patrick also provides “non-litigation” support to his clients, including contract drafting/review and legal advice related to emerging industry issues. Patrick is a father of three, a songwriter, and an avid golfer.
