About

Before joining Goldenberg Heller Antognoli & Rowland, P.C., John McCracken had been a partner with Coffey & McCracken Law Firm since 2001 where he oversaw all litigation matters of the firm and represented clients in a wide range of transactional matters. John has prosecuted and defended a wide variety of lawsuits including shareholder disputes, breaches of contract, title insurance claims, real estate disputes, negligence, fraud, and conspiracy claims. John has appeared in courtrooms throughout southern and central Illinois and has honed his advocacy skills through hundreds of court appearances in several jurisdictions. John also has a wide range of experience in corporate and transactional matters. In addition to forming new corporate entities for clients, John has represented corporate clients through complex asset and stock purchases, employment matters, real estate developments, and collection matters. A unique area of John’s practice is in the fiber-optic communications industry where he has represented clients in the construction and sale of fiber-optic communication systems. John’s educational background strengthens his representation of clients, having earned a Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University in 1997, a Master’s of Public Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1992, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Millikin University in 1990. John stays current on new legal issues through continuing legal education courses attended annually. John is involved in the Edwardsville community and is pleased to have served on the board of the Edwardsville YMCA and of the Children’s Home and Aid-Southern Illinois Region. In addition to being the Chair of the Fire and Police Commission for the City of Edwardsville, he is a member of the Goshen Rotary Club and serves on the property committee of the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. John and his wife, Stacey, have two children and live in Edwardsville.

John McCracken has served a long time as legal counsel pro bono for my non-profit organization.  Frankly, protracted legal negotiations (mainly about real estate, in my case) highlight my impatience. I acknowledge and address the need to review and revise paperwork once or twice. But by the time I get to the third rendition, paperwork and conferences begin to threaten my sanity. You'll never see that sort of reaction in John M.  Always, and ESPECIALLY when he spots an opponent trying to gain unfair advantage, he seems as energized as a chess grandmaster. He never lets emotions overrule his judgment, yet seems eager to plot the next move. I am confident making decisions based upon his general summary of all the particular details. My organization and this community are better thanks to him.
