About
John is a native and life-long resident of North Central Florida. He graduated from Furman University, where he was made a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1982, he spent a year as a research aide to Justice Parker Lee McDonald of the Florida Supreme Court. John joined Dell Graham as an associate in 1983. He has served as president of the firm since 1991. His practice has been concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice defense and governmental tort liability. His clients include hospitals, physicians, nurses and other health care providers.He has also represented school boards, community colleges, police departments, small businesses and individuals. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels.John has been board-certified in Civil Trial Law since 1991. He was made a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2002. He is a member of The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and the American Board of Trial Advocates, where he has served as president of the local chapter.John has been active in his Gainesville community, including volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity and as president of a local citizens advocacy group, the Coaltion for Responsible Growth.John and his wife, Yolanda, live in Gainesville. They have three children. When he's not practicing law, John enjoys University of Florida sports, hiking the mountains of North Carolina, sailing Florida's Gulf coast, reading and travel.
