Mr. German agreed to help get a shoplifting charge expunged after the final trial. It is now over a year later, I've placed of dozens of calls and emails he has never responded to. I am extremely disheartened that this man can continue to practive law unjustly ripping people off. Waste of money and time.

I hired John German on a felony case in 2011, and was extremely disappointed in my representation on this case. I appealed based on inefficient council, and could have won a new trial, but at that point I was close to being done serving my time, and didn't want the stress of a re-trial. I wanted my money back based on how poor of a job I felt John German did more than anything. The main witness in my case wanted to recant her statement, which could have resulted in a dismissal. I had a no contact order with the witness, so I never learned this fact until she contacted my family after I was sentenced. Not only did he not send his investigator to get a written statement from her(which he told me he was going to do), he never even tried to contact her. She had called him about 6 or 7 times before finally getting ahold of him. She also wanted to attend my sentencing and speak on my behalf, but he never informed her where or when it was. Then, he lied to me, and put me in a terrible situation. He told me they were going to drop my charges of delivery of heroin, possession of heroin, and delivery of a schedule 4 narcotic to one count of possession of heroin. This was about 2-3 weeks before my change of plea hearing. Then when I got to my court date, he told me that the plea was for possession of heroin AND delivery of a schedule 4 narcotic. A completely different plea than was previously stated. Then when I told him that I didn't want to take a plea for delivery, and was only willing to plea to a possession charge, he told me that anything after that court date would be another $2,000, which he knew I didn't have, as I had already sold my car to pay attorney fees and was on house arrest, and therefore was unable to work. So by lying to me, I felt forced to take a plea that I didn't do. It was that or have thrown away $5,000, and continue on with a different attorney, which would have been a public defender. Honestly, I would have been better off with a public defender. I wouldn't have gotten more time than I got, and I would have saved myself $5,000. At my sentencing, John German was completely unprepared, stumbling over his words and had no clear, concise purpose to asking for less time. I am still very bitter, by taking my case and putting in such little effort that it bordered on negligence. NEVER HIRE JOHN GERMAN AS YOUR ATTORNEY!!
