About

Jack was raised in Plymouth, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities. He spent most summer weekends sailing Lake Superior on his family’s sailboat. Jack developed very close relationships with his two grandmothers, who both got to see him reach adulthood. From these relationships and others, he developed a great respect for elders and an interest in their lives and experiences. These close relationships inspired Jack to focus on serving elders during his time at law school. As a member of St. Thomas Law School’s nationally-renowned Elder Law Clinic, Jack represented elders in Medical Assistance planning and nursing home disputes.Jack has served on the Governing Council of the Elder Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association since 2016, chairing and participating in several committees during that time. Jack served as Chair of the Elder Law Section for the 2020-2021 bar year. He remains active in the elder law bar, with an interest in finding and developing the next generation of elder law attorneys.In his spare time, Jack enjoys golfing ("ball" golf as well as disc golf), alpine skiing, performing and listening to music, watching old movies (and new ones), and reading. In winter, Jack coaches alpine skiing at Skijammers, a ski school in the Twin Cities, where he is also a Staff Trainer.
