I hired Joel Pratt as my attorney in a common law divorce case in which my ex-wife was in contempt. There were many moving pieces and me being overseas was the biggest factor to overcome, Joel was up to the task. When my case was brought before the magistrate the first time (for the contempt hearing), Joel Pratt was efficient, well prepared and made short work of our time in the court room. Ex-wife was ordered to comply and an attorney's fee hearing was set. I wasn't as satisfied with the outcome of the attorney fee's hearing, but no one can control what the magistrate will order. I was able to recoup some of my attorneys fees, but only about 10% of them (maybe less), despite being protected via court order for reimbursement for reasonable attorney's fees to the prevailing party but the magistrate ordered a small portion of them.
