He was concerned with keeping my family in tact through the difficult time of divorce. He was also very knowledgeable and responsive. I would recommend he to anyone!
Joel helped me through my divorce. It was the hardest time in my life. Joel helped me through it. He kept me out of trouble, with dignity and respect. While fighting for me. So Joel is a solid choice i would use him again.
My wife and I recently met with Joel about estate planning and we found him to be friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. His advice for our current situation was sound and we were very happy with the level of service that we received!
I would highly recommend Mr. Helder for your attorney needs, he is very knowledgeable, very thorough and also very caring with his clients. His attention to detail is excellent, his professionalism is shown in his work. He took over my case after some disappointments with another attorney and he picked up the pieces of what was not being done on my behalf, I was very satisfied with the results that Mr. Helder achieved for me.
Joel is very attentative, methodical in his approach. He is straight foward and has the best interest of his client. We put a plan in place and follow that plan and achieve our goals. He is fair all the way around by giving you pros and cons to your situation. I highly recommend Joel to represent you or anyone if your needing legal assistance.
I was referred to Mr.Helder by an old college pal of his whom works with me. Not only was he attentive and dedicated to my case, he fought for my rights like they were his own. Mr.Helder is a compassionate and genuine human being, which is refreshing to encounter in the search for counsel. A few firms I consulted prior to him made me feel like I was simply just a source of income. He genuinely has a passion for helping humans fight for their rights against a system that all too often has lost it's respect for humanity. I was kept well informed throughout the entire process and Mr. Helder went above and beyond to produce more than satisfactory results for my own legal troubles. I would reccomend him for your own counsel gladly, knowing you'll be in great hands.
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE HIRING THIS ATTORNEY. I hired Joel as my attorney and was forced to fire him after about 3 weeks due to incompetence. I am amazed that he has positive reviews and I relied on these reviews to hire him. Joel basically gave away my parenting time because he seemed intimidated by my wife's attorney. He also gave me incorrect information on multiple occasions. He told me that I would not be paying child support until the divorce was final. I confirmed this with him several times and I based my moving out of the house and other financial decisions on this information. He said that support payments only begin before the divorce is final in cases of "extreme need" and my case was certainly not a case of extreme need. When he then told me a week or so later that payment would start now I was shocked. His response was "that's the way I usually do it". Unfortunately, I later learned that the law does not work this way. After all the other misinformation that I received from Joel, this was the final straw and I had to fire him and seek other counsel. I interviewed numerous attorneys in my search for a new one. Every other attorney I talked to was perplexed by, and several laughed out loud, when I told them what Joel had told me. He refused to refund my money when I asked. Knowing when support payments start seems like the most basic of basic things that a divorce attorney should know. I am still amazed that Joel has a license to practice divorce law and I am currently filing a complaint to the Michigan Bar Association. The divorce process is difficult enough without having an incompetent lawyer. I liked Joel as a person as he seems like a nice guy, but I felt it necessary to post this review as I suffered great emotional and financial pain due to his inaccurate information and would not want anyone else to go through that. Joel maybe great at signing his name in divorces that are amenable and where everyone plays nice and therefore get positive reviews but if your divorce is not amenable then you need a real divorce attorney not Joel
