I hired this lawyer to prepare my O-1 and received the approval notice within 2 weeks. She was recommended by at least 10 of my friends. Many of them received visa through her. I saw the reviews here and initially doubted whether I should hire her. I am glad that I did because she is straightforward and tells to your face whether you are qualified or not for O-1 upfront. If you are denied by USCIS, then probably you are not good enough anyway. She may not like to involve with small talks with you, but I found that she delivered the result.
I hired this lawyer for my O-1 visa, recommended by someone who told me she is very responsive and organized and relatively cheap. She is responsive and organized and cheap but she is extremely brief and vague in her responses. I would ask 5 questions in my emails and she would answer probably one or two of them with just a few words sometimes with wrong grammar! Basically, I had to go and research myself what is needed to do. Although I had a strong case, I got RFE (request for evidence) solely because of her carelessness. I have not had any other experience with lawyers but I don't think bad English and negligence is common among them.
I hired Ms. Xie for an O1 visa petition. It was denied partially due to her lack of meticulous work. I didn't know this back then but after working with different lawyers I realized how bad the experience with her was. Quite unprofessional. Only good thing was the relatively low legal fee, and now I understand why it was cheaper. You get what you pay for. Good luck!
