I liked her. She was excessively knowledgeable about estate planning. I never realized I would learn so much about estate planning. So, I liked the fact that she did the work and took a lot of time to educate us. It was suprising to learn about the law regarding wills and estates, because it was totally different than we thought. I thought to myself that she ought to be a professor of law because she knows so much and did a really great job teaching us. Anyhow, it was worth it and we are glad we went w/ Jill.
Jill did some work for us when she was an associate at a downtown Chicago law firm a few years back. We recently moved out to the western suburbs to care for a relative. I contacted Jill again regarding some additional estate planning issues and was pleasantly surprised to find out that she is now working at a firm near the western suburbs. We arranged to meet half way between our home and her office to discuss the matter. We also explained that this was urgent and needed to taken care of rather quickly. Jill said it would not be a problem to complete the work within our time frame. As expected the work was completed on time. We met again this time at her office, and she ensured that everything was laid out and explained in detail. It is most comforting to find such a pleasant and personable attorney to work with, especially when it comes to delicate estate matters. I highly recommend Jill Tritt.
Jill has been our attorney for several years and she assisted us with our wills, living wills, and trusts. More recently she helped us with the paperwork for a transfer of deed upon death. Jill was very responsive to us - even over the weekend - to get this done because it was an emergency situation. She has excellent skills and knowledge and walked us through everything we needed to know in order to expedite this paperwork. Her emails and calls were very thorough and we always feel at ease when we're in Jill's capable hands. Her professionalism is top-notch...always. We are very grateful to have Jill in our life. Her knowledge and skills are far and above any other attorney we have ever worked with. That coupled with the personal attention she has given us makes her quite simply, the best!
We had a wonderful experience with Jill, and would use her services again. She did our estate plan from her home office. Everything went smoothly, and our plan was completed in the time frame given and for the cost quoted - we paid half up front and the balance when we met to sign our documents, which seemed a reasonable approach. Jill even spoke with our financial advisor after the fact, to make sure our accounts were titled for our trusts. She was always professional with us!
I shopped around and decided on Jill because she seemed to really know estate planning, even though she was more expensive. She educated me in every step of the process. I've told several friends about her and some have also used her services with great comments about how down to earth she is, and she always returns phone calls, unlike many other lawyers.
Jill has handled my estate planning, income taxes and various other legal and accounting matters for me. I have consistently found her to be intelligent, responsive and very thorough. Her questioning is what makes her an excellent lawyer.
She was very thorough and about the most detailed lawyer I have worked with. I went to her for her expertise and she delievered. My wife and I are comfortable knowing we have an excellent estate plan in place...I even had my attorney son take a look and he was impressed.
I found it interesting reading another review, because I found my experience to be very similiar. I met with her at her home office and she seemed knowledgeable. A fee was agreed upon and gave her money to start- up front, the rest due upon completion. Left the office and did not here from her for weeks- said she was going on vacation (out of town), very busy. Anyway, received the work that needed to be completed and she wanted the other half of the money before we even looked at the work that was done. I felt that if I wanted to change anything there would be additional fees and it already was costing double what I thought it should cost. I paid the the bill and went to another attorney for final adjustments. I will use an attorney that is "less" out for the money and "there" for the client.
In her first interview, conducted in her home using only a pad and pencil, she came across as friendly and competent, taking copious notes. In her follow-up emails (she was out of town for several weeks after the first meeting), she was quite sharp and aggressive, accusing me of not responding to her emails pronto. I decided to do some comparison shopping, which irritated her. She wanted me to meet with her asap with family members present because she felt that I was not mentally competent. So I dropped her. She insisted that I pay her the remaining half of her total fee of $700, which I did. So, I would not recommend her.
