About

I'm a JD graduate from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law with an undergraduate background in criminal justice, psychology, and political science. My first summer of law school I interned in Washington, DC with both the Department of Homeland Security (OIG) and the Department of Commerce (OGC). My second summer I was a judicial extern for a federal magistrate judge in the Northern District of Indiana. I worked primarily on Social Security law, sanctions, and attorney's fees and got to see the  Federal Judiciary from the inside. In the fall of my 3L year, I volunteered with District 10 Pro Bono Project, managing Medicaid and Social Security applications and appeals, and working on family court litigation. In my 3L spring I externed at the Sargent Shriver National Center of Poverty Law (Chicago) in the Health Care Justice division, also working in fair housing, criminal record expungement, domestic violence, and asset building. I worked for about three years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for St. Joseph County, first in the Traffic & Misdemeanor Division and then in the Special Victims Unit. I now work as a Staff Attorney for the Indiana Department of Child Services.
