About
Ms. Guenther assists clients with all aspects of commercial and residential real estate development, including land use applications, zone changes, General and Specific Plan Amendments, and environmental review. She works with a variety of clients, including major commercial and residential developers, as well as with clients in the mining, railroad, and transportation industries. She regularly advocates for private commercial and residential projects before local, state, and federal agencies, including those projects requiring expertise and experience with air and water quality regulation, the Federal and California Endangered Species Acts, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). While many of the Projects are highly controversial, often times garnering media attention on a regional and sometimes national level, Ms. Guenther brings a knowledgeable, common sense aproach to her representation that gives the decision-makers a comfort level in approving those projects.Ms. Guenther’s experience in environmental matters admist the drastic changes in State and Federal legislation that have occurred in recent years has also placed her at the forefront of the growing industry related to sustainable resources and energy development. She is knowledgeable in the development of alternative energy projects, such as solar and wind energy development, and educated in the LEED certification process. In addition to hands-on experience in analyzing compliance issues with both State and Federal Environmental laws, Ms. Guenther has extensive litigation experience in matters related to project development, the environment, real property transactions, quiet title and other land use matters. While continuing to litigate environmental compliance cases, she has expanded her practice to provide representation for companies and individuals found to be in violation of Federal environmental laws, representing clients in administrative hearings and negotiations with Federal agencies, including matters before the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Office of Debarment, as well as the United States Army Corp of Engineers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.Ms. Guenther brings a strong sense of community and commitment to her clients that reflects her understanding of the need to find balance between potentially controversial projects and representing the best interests of those clients. She is on the Board of Directors for the Inland Empire Association of Environmental (IEAEP) Professionals as the Legislative Liaison Officer. She is the Programs Chair of the State Planning Committee for the California Association of Environmental Professionals (CAEP) 2010 State Convention and is actively involved in the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL). She has published several articles on career building strategies and life balance, and is a regular speaker on environmental compliance and litigation matters.
