Jackie represented me in my divorce. It was a very hard time in my life and I just wanted to give up and give in. She did not allow that to happen. She stood up for my rights and helped me get I rightfully deserved all the while helping me to learn to stand up for myself as well. A few years late and I am a different person living a great life thanks to all she helped me through and all she taught me.
Jackie represented me in an overwhelming family situation involving my daughter. Prior to meeting with her, I was terrified and had no idea of what my rights were or what I could expect to happen. From our first meeting to the last, Jackie did a wonderful job spelling out how the law applied to my situation, and reviewed for how she planned on representing me. Sitting in front of her white board as she clearly defined the facts, the applicable laws and her recommendations in my case, I felt a growing sense of control as she made sense of what I saw as chaos. I greatly appreciated her direct, no nonsense style. While this situation was personally painful for me, I will be forever grateful to her for navigating me through a very difficult time in my life with skill, professionalism and compassion.
Jackie represented me through the most difficult period of my life. For nearly two years, I have worked with Jackie on my divorce/custody case, and for or nearly two years Jackie has not only provided knowledge and counsel, but has been a solid rock for me to lean and rely on. During a very emotional time, Jackie has been incredibly honest with me-she has provided me with reassurance; with her expert opinion; and when needed, with tough information and/or feedback. Jackie dispensed information through a personalized filter-she very quickly assessed how I need to receive information and adjusted her style and communication appropriately. Jackie and her team were very professional, very detailed, and very caring. They made sure that all t's were crossed and all i's were dotted. My case was not a simple one, and went on for quite a while, yet she always made me feel like a priority, like she was fighting for my children and I, and like she was incredibly invested. She fought for us like I could have never believed anyone would. Jackie and her team will always hold a very dear place in my heart, because I would not have been able to survive that time period in tact without them. I would recommend Jackie to anyone going through a difficult divorce or custody case. I put my entire life in her hands, and she earned every ounce of that trust from me and from my family.
Jackie has represented my family in two separate adoptions and we could not have been happier with her representation. Adoptions can be an emotional process and we were thankful for her compassionate representation both times. I would highly recommend Mrs. Handorf-Rugani!
This lawyer has recently helped me navigate the adoption process with my stepchild. We have had some serious concerns regarding the biological father, and she has been extremely good at standing up for us and ensuring we are protected. She was very willing to sit down with me to answer all of my questions regarding the adoption, and didn't just tell us what we wanted to hear. I would definitely recommend her in the future to any family or friends who need legal assistance.
Retained Ms. Handorf as my attorney for 3+ years trying to get visitation rights for my grandson. She talked about being a tiger in the court room. We we got there, she was more like a kitten. Did very little except rack up the bills. In the end the courts ruled against us.
I hired Jackie to represent me 4 years ago. I am still dealing with legal issues because of how my divorce was handled. I had to hire a new attorney who told me that my decree was written poorly and is vague. My ex was allowed to stay in our home and had 15 months to get my name off the deed. He foreclosed with my name on the deed. I am now being sued by the HOA and am expecting to be sued by the mortgage company. 3 years AFTER my divorce was settled, my credit is ruined and I am still being held responsible for my ex's actions because of the vague decree. I am going to have to pay my Ex's bills that happened over a year after the divorce was final. All because it was writting poorly. I was hesitant at the divorce hearing. She told me that I should sign it and we could fix it later . Well, I have learned since then it is very difficult to to get a post judgement modifcation on a divorce decree. It's nearly impossible. Thanks, Jackie. You took the easy way out and now I have to pay thousands of more dollars when i should be rebuilding my life. I'm doing all of this without a dime of child support. Also something Jackie told me I had no choice but to agree to. I also know someone else she represented around the same time. My friend has also had to hire another attorney to try to fix her issues.
